With another heatwave in full swing and temperatures continuing to rise, we thought it was worth sharing this post again.
During a heatwave It’s important to take extra care - especially for older people who are more vulnerable in extreme heat.
Here are some simple tips to help keep safe and cool:
💧 Stay Hydrated – Drink plenty of water, even if you don’t feel thirsty. Avoid too much caffeine or alcohol.
🏠 Keep Indoors During Peak Heat – Try to stay inside between 11am–3pm when the sun is at its strongest.
🪟 Keep the Home Cool – Close curtains and blinds during the day, and open windows in the cooler evenings.
🧊 Use a Fan or Cool Cloths – Fans, cool flannels, or even a mist spray bottle can help bring relief.
🧢 Dress Lightly – Wear loose, light clothing and a wide-brimmed hat if you go outside.
🍉 Eat Fruit – Eat fruits to stay refreshed and help with hydration.
🧓 Check on Others – Keep in touch with elderly neighbours, friends or family—make sure they’re coping and have everything they need.

🎾 Wimbledon starts today and the sun is shining – perfect weather for strawberries, cream, and some world-class tennis! ☀️🍓 Some of the lovely clients we support are big Wimbledon fans, so our amazing team of carers always make sure they don’t miss a match – whether it’s popping the tennis on the TV, enjoying a cuppa and chat about the players, or just soaking up the Wimbledom vibes together. 🌼💚
