Andy Clark Mentoring, Coaching and Counselling

Andy Clark Mentoring, Coaching and Counselling Offering support in these challenging times. I got lucky and was given some work at an electronics company. To walk alongside you on the path you wish to follow.

Mentoring, coaching, counselling services including; conflict resolution, 1:1 sessions and group work, mental health first aid and trauma informed practice. Mentoring, Coaching and Counselling

Sessions can be pre-booked regular slots (weekly or fortnightly) or on a more flexible ‘as-needed’ basis. Sessions are available on various weekdays, some evenings during the week, and I have also made some available at weekends. Currently all sessions are held via video calls on Zoom, Teams, WhatsApp, or by phone call - I can call you back if you don’t have much credit or remaining inclusive minutes – this will be by prior arrangement and from a different number than the one listed. If needed (and if you are local) sessions may be in person by prior mutual agreement, these may be held indoors or when the weather permits they may be outdoor ‘walk-and-talk’. Knowing that many people work ‘office hours’ some sessions will be available to book in the evenings and at weekends. Getting in touch

Around 30 years ago, I found myself fresh out of school and with no real direction, so I began temping. They obviously saw some potential and put me through college. I spent the next couple of decades working my way up through the ranks as an engineer, I loved it and was passionate about my job, but I found it less fulfilling as time went on. At the time I wasn’t sure whether this was a catalyst or symptom, but it had a huge impact on my mental wellbeing and relationships. In 2014 I was fortunate enough to get involved with a charity that supports young men involved in the criminal justice system. It’s here that I began my own healing and discovered the potential of ‘powerful mentoring’ and how absolutely crucial it is to have the right kind of support when doing self-development work. Since then I have trained in interpersonal conflict resolution, and as a facilitator of what is termed ‘inner work’ often referred to as ‘shadow work’. I believe in a person-centred approach, and that we each have the answers we need within us. My role a mentor, coach and counsellor is to ask questions and guide you to the answers already within you. It is also my role to truly listen, without judgement, and to offer empathy and understanding.

Thanks ManKind for this helpful and timely reminder.

Mentoring, Coaching and Counselling
• Are you feeling stuck or blocked from moving forward in your life?
• Do you have personal conflict in your life that is unresolved?
• Do you feel disconnected from those around you or life in general?
• Does worrying about the past, present or future adversely affect your life?
• Do you get angry, and then beat yourself up for getting angry!?

• Do you want to change but don’t know where to begin?
• Are you on or put off by the long NHS waiting list?
• Can you not afford or not want to pay high private therapy fees?

Is any of the above true for you?
Do you know someone who it is true for?
If so, then please read on…

Support offer
I have made additional sessions available to offer new time slots each week for mentoring, coaching, and counselling sessions where we can explore:
• What’s holding you back, and what’s needed to change to achieve your goals.
• Your limiting beliefs, where they come from, and what needs to change.
• Interpersonal conflict resolution with family, friends, or work colleagues.
• Personal accountability and understanding the repeating patterns that play out around this.
• Deeper psychological work that might help with moving your life forward based around Jungian Archetypes and ‘constellation’ or ‘shadow work’.
• Signposting to additional specialist or professional services if needed.

Costs
As the NHS referral waiting list, and demand for private therapy and counselling both increase, sadly so does the cost, with many counsellors now charging upwards of £70 and as high as £175 per session.

I recognise that not everyone that is in need of support can either wait this long or afford these costs, and so I am offering sessions at a fixed rate of £45 per 50-minute session.

Sessions
Sessions can be pre-booked regular slots (weekly or fortnightly) or on a more flexible ‘as-needed’ basis.
Knowing that many people work standard ‘office hours’ some sessions will be available to book in the evenings and at weekends.
Currently all sessions are held via video calls (Zoom, Teams, WhatsApp) or by phone call.
If you are local sessions may be in person by prior mutual agreement, these may be held indoors or weather permitting they may a ‘walk-and-talk’.

A little bit about me
I am a trained volunteer Mentor with a national charity, who I also work for part-time in a paid capacity. I am studying to become an accredited Counsellor (I have been mentoring, coaching and counselling people for some number of years now and it feels right to make this an official qualification).

I have 8 years’ experience as a Mentor and Coach, 15 years as a business owner, and 30 years in the engineering and manufacturing industry.
I have counselled friends, friends of friends, family members and work colleagues during this time using the tools and techniques of mentoring and coaching, and now wish to help more people and so I am taking a conscious step away from my other business to make space to do this.

I am a trained Mental Health First Aider and I am ‘Trauma Informed’ trained.

I believe in a person-centred approach, and that we each have the answers we need within us. My role a mentor, coach and counsellor is to ask questions and guide you to the answers already within you. It is also my role to truly listen, without judgement, to what is going on for you and to reflect what I hear. To offer empathy and understanding. To walk alongside you on the path you wish to follow. And if it’s helpful I might also share any experience I have of similar situations and what has worked well in those.

I hold an enhanced DBS check certificate (previously known as CRB check).

I have some great coaching ‘tools’ that can really help to shift the unhelpful and often limiting thoughts that I will guide you through (if they are done well you won’t even notice that I’m doing it).

I am trained in interpersonal conflict resolution and will guide you through what can often be a challenging and difficult conflict in your life.

I am a trained facilitator of what is termed ‘inner work’ and is often referred to as ‘shadow work’ or ‘constellation work’. And will guide and support you through this if that’s what is needed.

And finally, I am a trained facilitator of support group work, so if you have a group without a facilitator or thinking of starting one then I may be able to help.

The small print (important and sadly much needed)
1. This is a not a crisis service. If you need specialist or professional crisis support, please contact one of the services available.
2. If you or another person is in immediate or imminent danger dial 999.
3. I currently work with ages 18+. This is because there are more children’s services available and my experience is supporting and working with adults.
4. Having a personality disorder or diagnosed mental health condition wouldn’t exclude you, however it is helpful to know as much as possible from the first contact.
5. By engaging with my services, you will be required to sign a written contract with me. This will set out the formal agreement between us, some of these are summarised below.
a. Your contact details and personal data will never be shared with a third party freely or for mutual or financial gain. The exception to this will be if you give your permission or if they are legally requested/required to be shared.
b. Each session will include a reminder of the confidentiality clauses and safeguarding limitations. These include disclosure of a historic offence that the authorities are not yet aware of, intent to harm yourself or another person, or intent to commit an offence.
c. Any session notes will be held securely and confidentially in line with current best practices eg. for electronic files 256-bit encryption & password protection, and for written files a secure ‘double-locked’ filing cabinet & room.
d. Cancellation/reschedule with at least 48 hours’ notice is free to rebook. Less than this will result in the full session fee being payable.
6. Payment can be made by Bank Transfer, PayPal, PayM and is payable upon booking. Account details will be shared with you prior to booking.
7. Additional discounts may be negotiated for longer sessions or a larger block-booking by prior agreement.
8. Personal, professional, and public liability insurance certificates can be provided upon request.
9. If you think you know someone who may benefit from booking some sessions, please forward the information to them rather than contact me on their behalf. Do not assume that just because you want them to get support that they will take it or even appreciate your good intention for them.
10. Sessions can be single or block-booked in advance (by phone or email in the first instance) and then subsequently at the end of each session, or electronically via automatic scheduling software including payment – a link for this will be sent after initial contact.
