Some days we are tired, we ache, we can’t be bothered, we are peed off. Some days we just don’t want to show up. But we do it anyway.

You’re allowed to show up in a mood.

At least you did it.

That’s the wonderful thing about 1:1 Pilates - we can cater your session to how you’re feeling that day.

Back hurts and you have no energy? Let’s get the spine corrector out and do something restorative. You’ll feel better than not doing anything at all.

I promise 🫶🏻

My clients are super patient with me 🤣🤪

If you went to see a personal trainer for 1 hour a week, and did not do any other exercise outside of that, would you expect to see a huge difference in your form, strength, ability, posture, etc?

No.

And if you said yes, you’ve been lied to.

Consistency creates change.

Once a week is upkeep. Three times a week is change.

If starting off with once a week, and being consistent with that, is a big deal for you - great. You’ve now changed your habits.

Now, let’s make a change in your body.

Add one another session a week. Once two a week is consistent, make it three.

Three 1:1 Pilates sessions a week will make a huge difference in your posture, mobility, strength, confidence, stress levels and much more.

Let’s start with one and go from there.

💚 1:1 Pilates once a week is for upkeep, not change.

💚 Fat loss comes from high expenditure and lower caloric intake, that’s not Pilates, as our expenditure is rather low.

💚 Bigger muscles come from hypertrophy (lifting heavy at the gym), Pilates does make you strong, but it’s not for building bigger muscles.

💚 Heavy resistance training helps bone and joint strength, cardio helps heart strength and cardiovascular health, Pilates improves alignment and stability, and prevents injury and helps recovery of injury or damage caused by bad alignment.

💚 Just because Instagram shows serene looking instructors doing Pilates, doesn’t mean it’s easy. It’s means the instructor has been doing it a long time and is strong.

💚 Pilates trains muscle endurance that declines after the age of 30; keeps joints mobile, reducing stiffness; helps range of motion for every day activities, well into older age; prevents fall that can be fatal, due to increased stability; reduces cortisol and stress, preventing inflammation which is linked to heart disease, mental health disorders and many other illness.

If I’m not at the gym or teaching a class, you’ll find me on my sofa reading about dragons, shadow daddies, cowboys and hockey players 🙃

Date: Saturday 9th May 10am – 11:15am

Location: Yoga Life Studio, 25 South St, Eastbourne BN21 4UP

Join us for a soft, nourishing Pilates class designed to help you move gently, release tension, and reconnect with your body as we ease into the final stretch of spring.
This 75-minute session will begin with grounding breathwork, allowing you to slow down, settle into the space, and gently arrive in your body.

From here, we’ll move into myofascial release using massage balls, taking time to ease tension and work through knots in areas such as the glutes, shoulders, quads, and feet. This part of the class is all about softening, releasing, and creating a sense of lightness throughout the body.

Once the body is feeling more open and relaxed, we’ll transition into a calming blend of mobility, stretching, and gentle strength work, focusing on movement that feels supportive, spacious, and restorative rather than forced.

To close the session, we’ll ease into a gentle body scan meditation, giving you space to fully let go, unwind, and leave feeling deeply relaxed and rejuvenated — like a quiet reset for both body and mind.

Think slow mornings, soft layers, and moving in a calm, light-filled space. Our carefully curated Soft Girl Spring Playlist will create a peaceful, uplifting atmosphere, featuring soft, nostalgic girlhood favourites from early Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Hilary Duff, Vanessa Hudgens, and Ashley Tisdale — bringing a light, comforting, and quietly joyful energy to the class.

To make the morning even sweeter, there’s an optional coffee & catch-up afterwards at one of the lovely cafés in Little Chelsea — a chance to ease into your weekend and connect with your Pilates community.

This class is an invitation to slow down, soften, and embrace the gentle energy of late spring.

Everyone loves spine articulation… until you get to rolling in and out on the Roll Back Bar.

Then it starts to feel a little personal 💀🔥

We don’t stick to one modality for a reason.

They support each other.

It was never mean to be one of the other.

It was meant to be al.

Right. Just stretching.

Because you can’t see my muscles working here 🙃
