📚Blog Launch📚

As Mental Health Awareness Week comes to an end, I’ve taken some quiet time to reflect, and I’m really excited to finally launch the Neurodivergent Sussex blog ✨

The blog combines my passion for research and academic writing with lived experience, with the aim of creating content that feels both validating and evidence-informed. I wanted to create a space that explores neurodivergence and wellbeing in a way that feels relatable, thoughtful, and grounded in both research and real life.

I’m hoping to make this a regular feature moving forward, and I’d love to hear from the community too. If there are any topics you’d be interested in reading more about, please feel free to comment below 👇

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the first read 💛

If anyone is looking for a compassionate, thorough ADHD assessment for either a child or adult, I can highly recommend Dr Claire Stubbs in Eastbourne.

Claire is a Chartered Psychologist who takes a genuinely thoughtful and relational approach to assessments. She really takes the time to understand the whole person — not just a checklist of symptoms — and her reports are incredibly detailed, validating, and helpful for both families and adults trying to make sense of their experiences.

She supports children, teenagers, and adults, and has particular expertise in emotional wellbeing, neurodiversity, school difficulties, masking, anxiety, and how ADHD can present differently in girls and women.

I know how overwhelming the whole process can feel, so I wanted to share in case it helps someone else 🤍

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, and the theme is “Action.”

Action doesn’t have to be big-it can be small, gentle things like doing something kind for yourself, reaching out to someone, or connecting with your community.

That might look like:
💛 a walk outside or time in nature
💛 a coffee with a friend
💛 a creative moment or hobby
💛 rest without guilt
💛 doing something kind for yourself or others

I also want to gently acknowledge that while not all neurodivergent people experience mental health difficulties, there can sometimes be an overlap with anxiety, low mood, or burnout-especially when life feels overwhelming or overstimulating.

So this week is a reminder: your wellbeing matters, and small actions count.

Welcome to Neurodivergent Sussex 🤍

We are a supportive community for neurodivergent adults, bringing together gentle movement, meaningful connection, and time in nature.

Our aim is to create calm, inclusive spaces where you can show up exactly as you are — no pressure, no masking, just real connection.

We’re excited to be hosting our first walk & talk event very soon, with more events and offerings to follow. We have some lovely things in the pipeline, including small group experiences and one-to-one support.

If you’d like to connect with like-minded people, ask questions, or stay updated, head over to our group where most of our posts and conversations will take place.
