New Year, same me! 🙋🏼‍♀️

Hi everyone. Firstly - Happy New Year! 🎊
I thought I’d pop on and do a little re-introduction post for the start of this year.

I’m Jenny, an animal mad girl living out her dream getting to help people and animals everyday as an ACPAT Chartered Physiotherapist at J Rose Equine Physiotherapy.
I grew up in Guernsey and moved to the UK (East Sussex) for university in 2015 - BSc(Hons) Physiotherapy at Brighton University. After graduating, I decided to stay in the UK to event my horses and went to work in the NHS. After 18 months on my junior rotations I progressed up to a senior physio, then covid hit and I realized I wanted to do something a little different - and to me that meant more studying! I was accepted into Hartpury university to do my masters degree part time in Veterinary Physiotherapy whilst still working in the NHS. I qualified as a category A member of ACPAT (Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy) and was accepted onto the RAMP (Registration of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners) in 2022 and J Rose Equine Physiotherapy was started! I graduated with a full Masters degree the following year and the business has kept growing ever since! So much so I’m now working full time for my little business 🥳.
Outside of work I’m still absolutely horse mad. I’m out competing / eventing my gorgeous chestnut Peanut and still have my gorgeous old boy Louis 🦄 too. If I’m not riding you will find me running - I love a challenge and can’t really sit still - we’re signed up for 2 marathons and counting so far for 2026 😂.

Although I’m the same for 2026, the business is expanding.. so what’s going to be different this year?
- [ ] More diary space has opened up so I can take on new clients! I cover Sussex and the surrounding areas.
- [ ] Increasing Guernsey trips to monthly rather than 6 weekly. I’ll try and do my usual Thurs - Sun but there may be some months I can’t do these days. As usual I’ll email out my dates for booking. If anyone would like to be added on to my mailing list, let me know as I’m usually fully booked with a waitlist so don’t always advertise!
- [ ] Adding in sport specific Pilates classes! I’m really not very good if I don’t have something to work towards so I qualified as a Pilates instructor last year 😃. More details on classes soon once my insurance broker is back at work!
- [ ] Human physio appointments now available - currently as home visits but may be able to introduce a clinic space in both the UK and Guernsey soon.

Well using AI was easier than trying to get the ponies dressed up for a festive photo 😂. I’d just like to take this opportunity to wish all of my wonderful clients and their beautiful animals a very Merry Christmas and a Happy & Healthy New Year! I’m looking forward to catching up with all in 2026 🫶🎄🥂.

We’ve expanded into some merchandise!! Gorgeous & warm bobble hats for sale £18.50 each. From Oddballs (we do like oddballs as they donate a portion to charity!) but custom embroidered with the J Rose logo ☺️😍. Perfect for being out and about in this weather 😉 and it’s a fixed bobble so horses can’t take it off 😂. I’m travelling around Guernsey this week so can drop off (free delivery 😉). And then will bring a stock back to the UK ready to post from the 30th December, or can bring to appointments with me ☺️.

Just a post to say THANK YOU! Today was my last day of employment and I can officially now just tick the self employed box! It’s a very weird feeling that I can’t really describe - excitement, anxious, nervous but most of all incredibly grateful. Grateful to all of my wonderful clients, family and friends who have supported me so much and allowed me to grow my little physio business enough that I now get to work for myself full time. 🥹🥰🥳🤩. Back to admin tomorrow morning but for tonight an evening off to celebrate 🥳.

Hi everyone! Just a couple of admin notes!

Guernsey 🇬🇬 clients; I’ve just sent out my usual booking emails for the 18-21st December. Thank you to those who have already booked in - no rush but if I could have everyone’s availability back by next week, ill then do my best to get the appointment times out to you asap, as I know everyone’s diaries will become a little manic!

UK 🇬🇧 clients; just a reminder my last working day in the UK is Tuesday 16th December and I won’t be back at work here until the 2nd January. I only have 3 appointments left until then so if you’d like them drop me a message asap! Anyone urgent whilst im off please message me and I’ll see what I can do, but I’m hoping all of your animals behave 🙏.

Come and see what Peanut is prescribed for his active recovery day. He had a super gridwork session the day before and was sooo tired after - rightly so, he’d done his gymnastics!
I wanted him to stretch his legs but he didn’t need me on his back to do this. Some activations and mobilizations and a 25min in hand walk was perfect for him. I could’ve long reined, but I actually prefer to be up next to him for this 🥰.

We’re getting to that point if the year where the routine 6-8 week follow ups are falling around that time of year that begins with a C…!
If you know you’ll need a booking over the next few weeks please drop me a message asap to book in - I have v. Limited availability left until the end of the year and finish work in the UK to head home for Christmas on the 17th December. (Guernsey clients I’ll be working there the 18-21st).

From the new year I do have some very exciting news to share soon which means I can open up more appointments 🤩. Will share more on this soon.

It’s not just your horses that seem to have a self destruct button! At least once a week I get to the yard and Peanut has a new cut/lump/bump. This weeks antics involved him skidding through his fencing 🤦🏼‍♀️. A sore shoulder complex now treated all whilst he properly dozed off - no doubt dreaming about what he could get up too next 🙈🙃😂.

But first another few weeks of studying (yep, I went back to study again 🤣)
But I passed my first exam today in clinical matwork Pilates teaching 👏

This will mean some exciting add ons to J Rose Physio services from the new year.. I’ll reveal more soon.. but we’re talking rider specific Pilates classes 😏🤩

Hi everyone,

Just posting to let you all know that I will be having to rearrange all my appointments for the next couple of weeks / weekends.
Sadly my grandma passed away unexpectedly last weekend and so I have been taking some time with family to deal with this.
I will be staying in Guernsey until next weekend so any Uk clients I have booked in, I will be in contact with you to rearrange for the following week (week beginning 8th September).
Guernsey clients - I was due for my visit 4-7th Sept and have all your bookings (thank you). As the funeral is now due to fall on this date, what I will now be doing is working tomorrow - Wednesday. I’ll message everyone who has booked in to see if I can rearrange you now for this week coming😊. Im so sorry for this very sudden change, if it doesn’t work diary wise I will try and get another trip in sooner so we will sort something! If there is anyone else who would like an appointment now I’m here please message and I’ll see what I can do.
Bare with me in Guernsey - I had to travel back to Guernsey from a weekend away in a hurry so haven’t got anything with me - a quick scurry around town to find some jeans (why does nobody stock a long length anywhere!) and a sweatshirt means I’m good to go but obviously won’t be in my usual uniform. 99% of my work is done with my hands so it shouldn’t be a problem - however if I feel the equipment / laser would have been beneficial I will come back to you to use it free of charge when I can in addition to this appointment as I don’t have it with me.

Hi everyone!
Just popping a post here now before I inevitably start another task and then I’m too late 😂

I’d just like to wish all my wonderful clients the best of luck at GHOYS this week!
I am there Wednesday and Friday (I’ve been roped into showing the shetlands whilst my boys having some time away from competing - eventing vs shetland showing.. I wonder which wins 😜🤣) so do pop over to say hi or see how I can help your lovely animals 🐶🐱🐴🦄.
