What a Fantastic experienced we witnessed here at Eastbourne Gardens Care Home - Avery Collection

We were treated to an incredible performance by the talented Eastbourne Rock Choir- singing a mixture of well known familiar songs from various eras 🎶🤩

They got Residents, Staff & Visitors to the home all singing & clapping 👏🏻 🎶
Everyone was soaking up the wonderful atmosphere 🤩
The energy in the room was so uplifting 🎶💃🏻

Thank you to Everyone at The Rock Choir for creating such a joyful & memorable experience for us all 🥰
It was also an amazing & moving experience for resident Sylvia who was there watching her daughter & granddaughter sing 🎵🥰
It was also great to watch Diane from our Housekeeping Team, who was also part of the Choir 🎶

Dear Residents, Staff, Families & Friends 😃
Our minibus driver Paul will soon be walking the length of Hadrians Wall-
84 miles in 7 days 🚶🚶🏻‍♂️

Paul is raising money & awareness for a charity which is very close to his heart ❤️

Strokes impact around 100,000 patients each year in the UK with one in seven strokes seen as preventable.

A new project led by the University of Plymouth aims to enhance the ability to predict whether a person is at an increased risk of a stroke.

We were off to the races today 🐎 with our very own Eastbourne Gardens Grand National 🐎🏆

Residents picked out their horses & cheered each other all the way to the finish line 🐎🏆📣🎉

Congratulations Sue & Mike for winning your races 🏆🐎🤩🎉

We took our sweep stake around the home with room visits 🐎🏆
Residents enjoyed picking their horses from the comfort of their rooms 🏆🐎

What a Wild Day we have had today!

Today we welcomed Zoolab into Eastbourne Gardens Care Home - Avery Collection for a truly unforgettable experience! 🐀🐍🕷️🐸

Residents had the opportunity to get up close & personal with some amazing creatures- from slithering snakes, fascinating frogs & even a hairy spider 🐍🐸🕷️

There were some very brave moments as some of our residents faced their fears head on 💪🏻

It was wonderful to see the engagement & curiosity- not forgetting the bravery & proudness of seeing & holding the creatures up close 🤩

There was lots of conversations shared between us all afterwards 😃

The Easter Celebrations are still going for both Kath & Gill 🥰🐣💐
We visited The Royal Hippodrome Theatre to see this year’s Easter Pantomime Rapunzel 🎭

Both ladies loved the singing, dancing, bright colours & cheeky humour 🤭

Gill said “I used to go to The Congress Theatre lots. I saw Howard Keel & Petula Clark”

Kath said “My Claire worked in costume at all the theatres, those costumes were absolutely wonderful”

Residents were delighted to receive their eggs-there were lots of smiles, laughter & magic in the air 🥰🐣

Special Easter Baskets were delivered to all staff members in every department 🥰🐣

Resident Lis likes to spend time in her room. Her Niece recently purchased a suitable bird feeder to be placed just outside her window so she could watch the birds feed during the day 🥰

The Activity & Wellbeing Team noticed that her view was rather restricted 😔

This morning, Sara our Wellbeing Coordinator arranged with the gardeners to trim back the bushes & shrubs by her window 🪴🪏

Liz now has a much clearer view & is already enjoying watching the birds fly down to feed
Hence the big thumbs up from Lis 👍🏻
