Happy Easter!! The days are getting longer, weather (hopefully!!) will get warmer. The roadworks around the town are nearing completion, a new store opening in the Beacon soon. All good reasons to come into town to shop and visit our seafront, hiring one of our mobility scooters to make the day easier. We also sell Radar disabled toilet keys, walking sticks and currently have some pre-loved scooters for sale, so pop in for a chat with our friendly team of volunteers. Please note we will be CLOSED on GOOD FRIDAY and EASTER MONDAY, re-opening as usual on Tuesday 7th April

Happy New Year to all our users. Back to normal after all the festivities, we resume our usual opening hours from Tuesday 6th January. The weather is very cold, but meeting friends for a coffee in town is a good way to reconnect.

Today we said goodbye to one of our longest serving volunteers, Brian Johnson. Brian had been with Shopmobility since its early days in the Arndale centre, serving under three managers, still reporting for duty in his 90s. He sadly passed away in November after a short illness and will be sadly missed.

It is sad to hear that Brighton Shopmobility has to close during the winter months due to lack of funding. Add to this the increased costs we are all facing, making it a difficult situation to survive. Here at Eastbourne we are managing to hang on at the moment, but need your support to keep going. The more people who use our service, the longer we can continue to support those who rely on us. We rent out scooters and wheelchairs and also sell walking sticks and RADAR keys at very reasonable prices. Occasionally we are also able to sell pre-loved scooters, so pop into our premises at the Beacon centre (rear of building, between M&S and Primark). Our opening hours are currently Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 9am - 4pm. We are a small charity with a willing band of volunteers, so please support us in any way you can (donations are always welcome)

Wet windy weather giving us a foretaste of the winter months!! A good reason to pop along to rent one of our scooters, do some shopping, meet friends for lunch or coffee. Much better than sitting indoors watching the rain!!

Police had to stop this rider on A27!! Not recommended!! Our scooters can be used around the town centre and along the seafront from Pier to Holywell.

Ready for the carnival!!

On our way to join the parade. We didn't win any prizes but enjoyed meeting friends along the route, and good publicity for Shopmobility. Was very cold and windy - I cheated and kept my coat on!!!
