In light of extreme and sustained operational pressures both in our emergency departments and across the wards, we have declared a business continuity incident at Eastbourne DGH to ensure the safety and continuity of our services.

Please support us by only attending our emergency departments for serious or life-threatening emergencies. Please share our posts on social media to help us let as many people know as possible that they should consider other health services, such as your GP, pharmacies or NHS 111. This helps ensure that our hospitals can care for those who need them most.

Fancy supporting a local panto?

Willingdon Church Players are holding their annual pantomime towards the end of January. This year it’s Alice In Wonderland. Taking place at Willingdon Memorial Hall, Church Street, the panto takes place on January 21st, 22nd and 23rd at 7:30pm plus the 24th at 2:30pm and 7:30pm (both Saturday performances are now sold out).

LISTEN AGAIN:

We recently welcomed Tricia Haydon-Brown to our studios. Many people will know Tricia from her long career in nursing, starting at the former St Mary’s Hospital and then spending 34 years at the District General Hospital working in many roles including a night sister and eventually a clinical site manager.

Tricia is also well known at Wellness Warehouse in Hampden Park, Eastbourne Rock Choir and for pottery painting at Masterpiece in Holmes Hill.

The main topic of conversation was around her role as an independent Zinzino partner. Zinzino is a Scandinavian company who offer personalised nutritional advice and guidance focusing on Omega 3 and Omega 6 in balance, eventually being able to support inflammation lifestyle conditions, brain health, gut health and our skin.

Eastbourne People is back with Len Fisher from 6-8pm. This week Len’s guest is Dave Williams

Dave is excited to announce his forthcoming Sings and Swings ‘26 Tour shows based around his latest EP, Reflection and previous album, Dave Williams Sings & Swings. Dave will be, as usual, joined by his director of music, Roy Hilton on piano plus his regular top quality line up of the finest musicians around.

Dave will also, once again, be appearing at various venues in and around Brighton, London and further afield including the hugely successful regular live swinging popular, swing & jazz music sessions at Bohemia in Brighton
