🐾 Purr-fect Day at Beechwood Grove! 🎾☕️

Today we celebrated National Cat Day in the best way possible – with a visit from some adorable furry balls of fluff, kindly brought in by our Nursing Floor Manager, Lisa. The residents loved every cuddle, purr, and whisker twitch – a real treat for all the cat lovers here! 🐱💛

As if that wasn’t enough, we also enjoyed a lovely trip out to the The Tennis Cafe, Eastbourne where good conversation, hot drinks, and a few sweet treats made for a perfect afternoon.

🌼 A Fresh Bloom and Birthday Cheer at Beechwood Grove! 🎉

This afternoon, our residents rolled up their sleeves and refreshed the beautiful flower displays around the home – bringing even more colour and joy into our shared spaces. There’s nothing like the scent of fresh blooms and a bit of gardening to lift the spirits!

🌞 A Relaxing and Inspiring Day at Beechwood Grove 🧩🍰

Our residents started the day gently with some peaceful jigsaw puzzles, the perfect way to ease into the morning. Then it was time to get hands-on in the kitchen, baking up a delicious Jamaican Toto cake – the sweet smell had everyone’s mouths watering!

In the afternoon, we welcomed the wonderful Wayfinder Women, who gave an engaging talk all about the incredible women of Eastbourne – past and present. A slice of toto cake and a good chat made for a truly heartwarming session. 💬✨

And of course, we couldn’t let the day go by without wishing David a very Happy Beechwood Birthday! 🎉🎂

Yesterday, we had the absolute honour of celebrating a truly incredible milestone — our lovely resident Iris turned 100 years old! 💐

Marking a century of wonderful memories, Iris received a very special card from His Majesty the King, which brought a huge smile to her face. The afternoon was spent surrounded by close friends, enjoying a delightful afternoon tea filled with laughter, stories, and of course, plenty of cake! 🎂☕

🦉Hoots & Cheers: A Feathered Celebration of National Owl awareness day at Beechwood Grove 🦉

We had a magical visit from Owl Adventures, where everyone had the chance to meet these magnificent birds up close – did you know owls can rotate their heads up to 270 degrees thanks to extra neck vertebrae?

And to round off the perfect day (as if owl cuddles weren’t enough!), we raised a toast for National White Wine Day with a crisp glass of white and a tempting selection of cheeses 🧀🍷

🎂 We also want to wish the lovely Margaret a very big Beechwood Grove Happy Birthday! 🍥 The sweet smell of cinnamon filled the home this morning as our residents got busy in the kitchen making delicious cinnamon swirls from scratch! There was lots of laughter and a few sticky fingers along the way! 🍥

🌟 Of course, the best part came this evening when everyone got to enjoy the fruits of their labour with a warm swirl (or two!) and a cuppa. 🌟

📚🇬🇧 This afternoon at Beechwood Grove, the residents gathered for a wonderful chat reflecting on the life and legacy of Sir Winston Churchill. Stories were shared, memories sparked, and admiration expressed for the man often credited with helping lead Britain to victory during WWII.

💬 One fascinating fact we learned today: Churchill won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1953—not for a single book, but for his lifetime of writing, including his six-volume history of World War II!

📸 Meanwhile, on Ash floor, the team—alongside our nurse Oana—were caught striking a pose or two for the camera.

🎠 A Trip Down Seaside Memory Lane! 🏖️

This afternoon at Beechwood Grove, the wonderful Carousel Entertainers took us on a nostalgic trip to the good old British seaside — and what a treat it was! 🎡🌊

With firm favourites like Punch and Judy bringing back childhood memories and the fabulous Butlins red coats who performed seaside classics, our residents were all smiles and laughter. 🎭🎶

🎈👏 Fun and Recognition at Beechwood Grove 👏🎈

There was lots of laughter on Birch Floor this morning as our residents enjoyed a lively session of parachute games! It’s always a joy to see everyone getting involved, working together, and having fun — it’s great for coordination, movement, and most importantly, lifting spirits!

We also want to say a huge congratulations to Lisa, our Nursing Floor Manager, for being named Employee of the Month! 🌟 Lisa has gone above and beyond recently — not only learning our brand new care plan system, but also showing incredible support to her team throughout the transition. Your dedication and leadership have not gone unnoticed. Well done, Lisa! 💙

☕🌿 A Lovely Day Out and a Soothing Afternoon at Beechwood Grove 🌿☕

This morning, some of our residents enjoyed a delightful trip out to the Street Café at St Wilfrid's Hospice. With good company, fresh coffee, and a welcoming atmosphere, it was the perfect way to start the day. Thank you to the team at St Wilfrid’s for making us feel so at home!

Back at Beechwood Grove this afternoon, it was time to unwind with a calming lavender sensory session. Lavender is known to promote relaxation, reduce anxiety, and even improve sleep — and the room was filled with its gentle, soothing scent. A lovely way to end a wonderful day 💜
