This week marks World Breastfeeding Week 2025, with the theme "Create Sustainable Support Systems."
We believe everyone deserves the guidance, resources, and opportunity to feed their baby as they choose.

World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF UK have outlined ten simple, evidence-based steps to help mothers initiate and sustain breastfeeding.

Here in East Sussex, the East Sussex Maternity & Neonatal Voices unites local infant-feeding services to explore how we can all collaborate, streamline pathways, and strengthen ongoing support for families.
Please keep an eye on their socials this week where they will be sharing information.

Whatever your plans this Summer, make sure you know how to keep your baby's fluids up!

To check if your baby is too hot, feel their chest or the back of their neck.
If they feel clammy or sweaty, these are signs they're getting too hot.
When your baby is too hot, remove a layer of clothing and adjust the room temperature if possible.

Please go to the NHS website for further advice.
