Today is Rainbow Baby Day, a time for families to celebrate their rainbow babies, and to keep the memory alive of the baby that has died.

Having another child after the death of a baby is sometimes called a 'rainbow baby. This signifies that life and hope can not only survive a storm, but that a storm itself is integral to the creation of the rainbow. However, for some the symbol of a rainbow may over-simplify their experience because the arrival of a rainbow baby doesn't take away the grief they feel about their loss.

The decision to have another baby is a very personal one. The The Lullaby Trust are here to support families during another pregnancy for as long as needed. They understand that grief doesn't just go away with the arrival of another baby. You can find guidance and support over on their website and the link is in their bio.

No family should face grieving their baby alone. They are here to offer support, now and in the future for anyone affected by the sudden death of a baby or child.

This week marks World Breastfeeding Week 2025, with the theme "Create Sustainable Support Systems."
We believe everyone deserves the guidance, resources, and opportunity to feed their baby as they choose.

World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF UK have outlined ten simple, evidence-based steps to help mothers initiate and sustain breastfeeding.

Here in East Sussex, the East Sussex Maternity & Neonatal Voices unites local infant-feeding services to explore how we can all collaborate, streamline pathways, and strengthen ongoing support for families.
Please keep an eye on their socials this week where they will be sharing information.
