It's World Reflexology Week! 😍

📖 Reflexology is rooted in ancient traditions, with origins tracing back to Egypt, China and India. The practice is based on the principle that specific points on the feet, hands and ears correspond to different organs and systems within the body. By applying focused pressure to these areas, Reflexologists aim to trigger the body’s natural healing processes and restore internal balance.

The Benefits of Reflexology

✨May Help with Stress Relief: Reflexology is championed for its ability to reduce stress and promote relaxation. The gentle pressure applied during a session may help calm the nervous system, allowing the body to release tension and anxiety.

✨May Improve Circulation: Reflexology is said to enhance blood circulation, which is crucial for delivering oxygen and nutrients to cells.

✨May Promote Pain Relief: Many people turn to Reflexology to alleviate chronic pain conditions, such as migraines, back pain and arthritis. By targeting specific reflex points, Reflexologists can help reduce pain and discomfort.

✨May Enhance Wellbeing: Regular Reflexology sessions may lead to a sense of overall wellbeing. Clients often report improved sleep, increased energy levels and a greater sense of balance in their lives.

On Wednesday 10th September 2025 Eastbourne's FHT Local Support Group was welcomed to the beautiful guest house of Kris & Duncan (Kris being an FHT member) The Beach Front along Eastbourne's seafront. Teas, coffees and cookies were kindly served. Beverley Collison, of Complementary Therapies & Training Centre, the LSG Co-Ordinator began the meeting by recapping the importance of checking moles and highlighted the leaflet that can be obtained on the FHT website for guidance. Bev also reinforced member benefits of the FHT to include quarterly magazine, member info on FHT website, MFHT can be placed after name, code of conduct, insurances, FHT shop.

Two members were awarded their VTCT Level 3 Certificate's in Indian Head Massage, which they achieved with CTTC.

Jane Bright of Jane Bright Wellbeing introduced the group to the wonderful world of Pilates. Beginning with an interesting description of the history of Pilates and the journey of its pioneer Joseph Pilates. Jane went on to explain the benefits of the exercise to improve strength, agility, mental health, posture, flexibility, mobility and rehabilitation. It may also help with symptoms of menopause such as strengthening the pelvic muscles. Pilates is a gentle method of movement to get the deep core muscles working and can be carried out with a mat, ball, block or resistance band. Jane offers different classes throughout the week and also one to one or two to one sessions in Eastbourne.
