Nearly 7 million people took part last year, helping to spot cancer early — when it’s easier to treat.

If you’re aged 50–74, you’ll be sent a home test kit. It’s quick, simple, and done in private.

You can lower cortisol by improving sleep, exercising regularly, managing stress, spending time in nature, limiting caffeine, and eating whole foods.

*Meningitis can be very serious if not treated quickly.*

Symptoms of meningitis develop suddenly and can include:

- a high temperature (fever)
- being sick
- a headache
- a rash that does not fade when a glass is rolled over it (but a rash will not always develop)
- a stiff neck
- a dislike of bright lights
- drowsiness or unresponsiveness
- seizures (fits)

These symptoms can appear in any order. *You do not always get all the symptoms.*

Call 999 for an ambulance or go to your nearest A&E immediately if you think you or someone you look after could have meningitis or sepsis.

Trust your instincts and do not wait for all the symptoms to appear or until a rash develops.

*Someone with meningitis or sepsis can get a lot worse very quickly.*

🆕 *There’s been an update to bowel cancer screening.*

Bowel screening FIT kits are sent to everyone aged between 50 and 74.

When they’re sent back, completed kits will be checked at a lower threshold. This means that even smaller amounts of blood can be spotted and if found, get patients referred for more tests earlier.

This helps find early signs of bowel cancer sooner, when treatment is more successful.

When you get your kit in the post, pop it somewhere you’ll remember — by the loo is easiest.
