💚 Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month
This month brings an opportunity to shine a light on something that has shaped our family’s life in ways we could never have imagined.
In Embracing the Extraordinary – The Reality of Parenting Neurodivergent Children, I share the very real journey our family has taken since our daughter’s diagnosis with cerebral palsy. It’s a story of uncertainty, resilience, learning, and ultimately, growth.
Along the way, we discovered that healing and progress can take many forms. Through therapies, lifestyle changes, deep emotional work, and a willingness to explore supportive approaches to wellbeing, we began to understand how profoundly the body, mind, and environment are connected.
Our journey has taught us so much about patience, advocacy, hope, and the importance of looking beyond limitations to see potential. It has also shown us how vital it is for families to feel supported, informed, and empowered as they navigate their own path.
My hope in writing this book was not only to share our story, but to help other parents and carers feel less alone, and to offer insight into the possibilities that can emerge when we remain curious, open and committed to supporting the whole person.
