❗️How many hours a day do you spend staring at your phone?

Looking down at your smartphone, with your chin to your chest, can put about 60 pounds of force on your neck.
Besides muscle pain, text neck can cause a host of other health concerns. Sitting in a slumped position restricts your lungs' ability to expand, impairing your lung capacity.

If text neck is suspected, you can do a number of things to try and help relieve the pain:
- limit phone usage
- use better postured but holding device up closer to eye level
- do exercises and stretches that specifically target the next, chest and upper back

If not addressed, the continued forward head posture and hunched shoulders may worsen over time, which could lead to even more pain and reduced mobility in the neck, upper back, and shoulders.

Following on from last night's announcement, we would like to reassure you that Lee can carry on working and chiropractic treatment is available.
If you have an upcoming appointment and you are in the shielding group, please contact the clinic on 02380 641745 (further info available on the government's website). Take care and stay safe.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-on-shielding-and-protecting-extremely-vulnerable-persons-from-covid-19/guidance-on-shielding-and-protecting-extremely-vulnerable-persons-from-covid-19

These general principles apply at all local tiers. In addition to the rules you and your community must follow at each level, you can take additional precautions to protect yourself.

Walk Tall Chiropractic will remain OPEN throughout the lockdown!

Following the announcement from the government, we wanted to let you know that we are allowed to stay open throughout this second national lockdown.

We are exempt from closure under the Health Protection (Coronavirus restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020 because our work helps to promote health and takes pressure off the NHS. Chiropractors have been classified as essential workers for this reason.

During the first lockdown it was appropriate for us to close. At that time there was lack of clarity regarding modes of transmission and necessary measures needed to keep everyone safe and of course, limited PPE, which we did not want to take away from the NHS. This time we are ready and prepared for it. We have risk assessments in place, the appropriate PPE and enhanced hygiene protocols. We are following the measures outlined by Public Health England to make sure that the clinic is a safe place to attend for your Chiropractic care.

The government announcement encouraged people to continue accessing necessary and routine healthcare from the NHS and other medical professionals. This applies to Chiropractic care.

If you are vulnerable, shielding or unwell and cannot attend for an appointment, please contact the clinic on 02380 641745 and we will be more than happy to provide advice to you over the phone.

We are pleased to announce Lee is back at work (with less hair) offering acute and emergency appointments.

Good morning,

Due to the current government lock down we have made the incredibly difficult decision to close our clinic. We felt this was in the best interest of both our patients and staff.

This is currently due to last for 3 weeks, although we will revise our decision again after this period.

We will be sure to let you know again when we reopen.

If you have any questions or worries during this period, please get in contact, we will be happy to give you a call to talk it through with you. - 02380 641745

Stay healthy.

Kindest regards,

Lee and Vanessa
