Key Changes Music Therapy

Key Changes Music Therapy Providing professional music therapy services to all ages For many who are referred to us, the powers of speech are at best limited.

Music therapy is a creative therapy, a highly effective largely non-verbal approach to personal therapy. It is increasingly recognised as a valuable part of the care of people, of all ages, who have sensory, physical, learning or neurological disabilities, or who have emotional or communication issues. Music therapy is used to help people work through emotional issues enabling them to cope better

with their lives. The approach in music therapy, involves creating music in a live and spontaneous way, although musical skills are not required for someone to benefit from this special work. Over time, a trusting relationship can develop through the music which therapist and client create together. This, in turn, can facilitate physical, mental, social and emotional development. If you are interested in accessing our services, for yourself, or for someone else, please complete our contact form at:

All donations are greatly appreciated and enable those who can benefit from music therapy, young or old, to access our services. Donations can be made via our website:

We're very excited this week, to introduce our new Music Therapy Manager, Emily Corke.

Emily is a HCPC registered Music Therapist with experience across charity, NHS and community settings. She has worked with children, adults and older people in both inpatient and community services, and is committed to maintaining high professional standards and promoting accessible and person-centred music therapy. Alongside her clinical work, Emily has experience in supervision, training and service development, and is particularly interested in supporting therapists and services to grow in a way that is sustainable, collaborative and values-led. She has contributed to research and evaluation projects and is passionate about communicating impact in ways that are meaningful and proportionate.

Support Key Changes: Run the Wi******er Half with us 🏃

We have a few pre-paid charity spaces for the Wi******er Half Marathon and are looking for runners to help us protect a vital service.

Music therapy is often the only way our clients can express themselves when words aren't enough. By joining our team, you’re directly funding sessions for children with neurodiversity and adults facing significant mental health challenges.

- The Space: We have covered your entry fee entirely.

- The Goal: We ask each runner to raise a minimum of £60 to help us keep these sessions available to the community.

- How to join:
1. Claim your space at the link below.
2. Our Fundraising Trustee, Madeleine Withers, will then reach out to help you set up your personal fundraising page so you can share your journey with friends and family!

Your miles will help provide a breakthrough for someone who truly needs it.

We raised our glasses this week and toasted our friend and colleague Beccy Read. She's been our lead therapy coordinator for nearly 18 years since she founded Key Changes Music Therapy.

Beccy retires at the end of March and there was no shortage of good wishes and music at her "little party" to mark the momentous occasion and say thank you for everything she's contributed.
