🚧 Important Travel Update for Our Care Team 🚧

Following the serious incident in Eastleigh this morning where a Bluestar bus crashed into the River Itchen, we want to remind all carers to plan an alternative route if you usually travel through this area

We have contacted all affected clients to inform them of potential delays or changes to visit times, and everyone is aware and understanding

Our thoughts are very much with the driver and all those involved in this distressing incident 🩵

Please take extra care on the roads and don’t hesitate to reach out to the office if you need help with directions or support

🚨 Fire Safety Alert: The Hidden Dangers of Emollient Creams 🚨

We are deeply saddened to hear the news of a tragic incident involving the death on a gentleman due to a build-up of residue from an emollient cream he had been using caused his clothes to become more flammable, leading to a fatal fire when he was near a gas heater

Emollient creams, commonly prescribed for skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis, often contain paraffin or natural oils. While these ingredients are not flammable on their own, they can soak into fabrics such as clothing, bedding, and dressings. Over time, this residue can make these materials highly flammable, posing a significant fire risk, especially when exposed to heat sources like heaters, candles, or ci******es.

At Sienna Home Care the safety of our clients is our utmost priority. For all clients using flammable creams, we have comprehensive risk assessments in place. We urge both staff and family members to strictly adhere to these safety guidelines to prevent such devastating incidents.

Safety Tips:
