3 very different sets of feet yesterday morning…
1️⃣ First trim for Shire X mare Rosie.
Rosie is 18yo with suspected neurological issues so has struggled with hoofcare. Due to her loss of balance/proprioception, Rosie has a strong lateral loading, plaiting all 4 feet underneath her. This has created some distortion in her hooves, resulting in struggles with flare and cracks/chips.
Rosie coped amazingly! Im sure we’ll see some improvement in her feet.
2️⃣ Routine trim for 27yo pony Dyno.
Dyno has PPID, but is now very well managed and I’m thrilled with how his hooves are looking coming out of winter. Dyno is fit as a fiddle, and still enjoys occasional ridden work with his little human!
3️⃣ Routine trim for Warmblood Freddie.
Freddie’s hooves have improved so much over the last year or so I’ve seen him. We started with very under run, contracted and generally very weak feet. He now experiences no ground sensitivity and has a varied life of hacking, jumping and general riding club activities! Superb!
Variety keeps things interesting!😁
