The day is almost upon him! Tomorrow starts the ultimate endurance challenge of completing the over the next 5 days and I want to wish him the best of luck! Luck comes with preparation and chwarae teg, he’s worked unbelievably hard for over a year to get ready for this and can’t wait to see him smash it 💪🏼

Starting this week I’ll be running a 6 week Olympic Lifting Coaching Block and it’s £50 for the whole block!

Sessions will be Tuesday 5pm (Sn**ch Session) & Wednesday 6pm (Clean Session) and there’ll be a few extra catch up sessions added over the block too 👍🏼

You’ll also get 2 extra programmed sessions that will help you build a better Clean & Jerk and Sn**ch 💪🏼

Whether you had only a couple of weeks off or you’ve had an extended period away from the gym, returning to training remains pretty much the same.

Keep things simple to start, build back up over a few weeks to your more advanced training methods like tri sets etc

Reducing the volume, intensity and weights to start will help reduce DOM’s especially if you’ve had a longer hiatus from your training. Again build up these over a few weeks 👍🏼

Lastly, you should be including these anyway but recovery strategies will help you recover better and quicker allowing you to increase the volume and intensity as you move through your programme 💪🏼

We open the doors this weekend and the challenge will officially start next Friday but from Tuesday we will start laying the foundations 💪🏼

My Story

Hi, I’m Mike!

I’m a Personal Trainer, Strength & Conditioning Coach and Nutrition Coach. I’ve been a PT since 2015 and have been training in the gym for over half my life! I’m a big sports enthusiast and have played Rugby, Football since I can remember and have recently taken up golf and triathlon training!.....Due to my rugby days coming to an end.

I own and deliver functional, S&C, HIIT and other style class at my Athletic Fitness gym in Ebbw Vale. We have recently started our Youth Academy from the gym and are looking to grow this element of the service!

In July 2019 Myself and 5 of my closest friends completed a 10k Tyre Flip arounf Bryn Bach Park, raising money for a local charity and are planning for the next challenge!
