Getting and staying active is a key foundation in wellbeing and fitness.

I thought this article was good to read. I agree with single leg work which I prescribe often in rehabilitation of back pain and hip or knee pain 🔙🦵

I'll be adding in squats with a heel lift to my own exercises 💪

If you're 60 or over and not currently training then these classes could be for you 👟

Classes will focus on balance, coordination and agility with a solid base for strength. All the things you need to keep being independent and fit for life 🙌

Starting on 14th April, this is the sort of activity that really helps reduce those injuries I see most often. Patients that include strength and balance in their routine always do the best in terms of recovery.

Your thorax is the space in your chest from your diaphragm up 🌬

It's an area that contains your heart and lungs 🫁 and is protected by your ribs and spine 🔙

It's an area I almost always assess because its links your neck and shoulders to your low back and hips

Its an area that gets prone to stiffness due to
❄️ Coughs and colds
🗣 stress breathing (short breaths from your neck)
💪 Loading from anterior shoulders (from desk work or shoulder pain)

And when it's tight and stiff it impacts low back pain 🌩

Getting it supple and moving will help but its not an easy place you can get to yourself

Get assessed to see if this area is contributing to your pain and stiffness ✅️
