That “niggle” you’ve been putting up with…

It’s not normal — it’s just common.

That lower back discomfort that comes and goes...
A tight shoulder...
A sore heel...

It’s easy to ignore when it’s manageable… but these small issues have a habit of becoming bigger ones over time.

The earlier you address it, the easier it is to treat.

If something doesn’t feel quite right, it’s worth getting it checked.

•• Shockwave Therapy Series - Hip Pain / Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome ••

Persistent hip pain when running, walking, lying on your side, or climbing stairs?

One common cause is Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome — irritation of the tendons and tissues around the outside of the hip.

When these tissues become overloaded or inflamed, the pain can linger for months and make everyday movement uncomfortable.

At Elevate Physiotherapy we use radial Shockwave Therapy with the Storz Ultra-Radial device to help stimulate the body’s natural healing response.

Shockwave therapy delivers targeted acoustic waves into the affected tissues, helping to:
• stimulate circulation and healing
• reduce chronic tendon pain
• improve function and mobility

Combined with the right physiotherapy programme, it can be highly effective for stubborn hip pain that hasn’t responded to rest alone.

If hip pain is limiting your movement or sleep, our team can assess whether Shockwave Therapy may help.

Meet the Team – Katie

This time we’re introducing Katie, whose passion for movement and wellbeing began with a background in dance and has grown into a career in physiotherapy.

Outside the clinic, Katie loves spending time in the outdoors. From wild camping under the stars to exploring scenic trails with her energetic Jack Russell, she’s always happiest when she’s active and adventuring.

These days, running is her go-to way to stay fit and recharge — whether it’s a quick jog or taking on a longer distance challenge.

Katie also believes in balance. When she’s not helping patients move and feel better, she enjoys discovering new places to eat, a spot of shopping, and relaxing with a well-earned glass of prosecco.

Her energy, warmth and enthusiasm make her a wonderful part of the Elevate team, and our patients quickly discover they’re in very capable hands.

Sports Massage isn’t just for athletes.

Despite the name, you don’t need to run marathons or compete at the weekend to benefit from a sports massage.

In fact, many of the people who book one simply want relief from the aches and tension that build up through everyday life.

Long hours at a desk.
Regular gym sessions.
Gardening, DIY, running around after the kids.
Or simply the build-up of tightness over time.

Sports massage works by targeting deeper layers of muscle and soft tissue to help:

* Relieve muscular tension
* Improve flexibility and mobility
* Support recovery after activity
* Reduce stiffness and discomfort
* Keep your body moving well

For some people it’s about improving performance.
For others it’s simply about feeling better day to day.

Either way, you don’t need to call yourself an athlete to benefit.

At Elevate Physiotherapy, we’re proud to work with women at every stage of life — helping them move better, recover stronger, and keep doing the things they love.

From athletes and busy professionals to mums juggling everything in between, women place huge demands on their bodies every day. Supporting that strength, resilience and determination is something we never take for granted.

This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the women in our clinic team and the women we support through treatment, recovery and performance.
Here’s to strong bodies, strong minds, and the women who keep showing up.

Physiotherapy isn’t just treatment. It’s investigation.

You might arrive with knee pain, a tight shoulder, or a back that’s been grumbling for weeks… but the place it hurts isn’t always the place causing the problem.

That’s why a physiotherapy appointment is about understanding the whole picture, not just treating the symptom.

Your appointment will usually include:
* A discussion about what you’re experiencing and how it started
* Movement assessment and testing
* Looking at strength, mobility and any imbalances
* Identifying what’s really driving the issue
* A clear plan to help you move better and recover

Sometimes the cause is obvious.
Sometimes it takes a little more digging.

That investigative approach is how the Elevate team gets to the root of the problem — not just the part that hurts today.

And while there’s no magnifying glass involved, solving the case is always the objective… Claire’s Angels style.

In the first of our new 'Meet the Team' series...

Meet Karen – the friendly face and warm welcome of Elevate Physiotherapy.

From the moment you walk through our doors, it’s Karen’s smile that puts you at ease. And if you’ve ever called the clinic to book, rearrange or check an appointment, chances are you’ve already experienced her calm, reassuring voice on the other end of the phone.

Behind the scenes, Karen is the glue that keeps everything running smoothly. She manages our appointment diary with military precision, keeps the team organised (no small task!), and somehow still finds the time to ensure the clinic looks immaculate. We’re not saying she has superpowers… but we’ve never actually seen proof that she doesn’t.

Quite simply, Elevate wouldn’t be Elevate without her. Karen is the heartbeat of the clinic – and we’re very lucky to have her.

•• Shockwave Therapy Series: Anterior Knee Pain & Patellar Tendon Issues 🦵⚡

Knee pain that just won’t shift? It might be your patellar tendon.

Anterior knee pain — often labelled patellar tendinopathy or jumper’s knee — is common in runners, cricketers, gym-goers and anyone loading their knees repeatedly.

It can feel:
• Painful just below the kneecap
• Worse with squats, stairs or lunges
• Stiff at the start of activity but sharper afterwards
• Like it’s “always there” in the background

This is where shockwave therapy can make a real difference.

Shockwave works by stimulating a healing response within the tendon, increasing blood flow and encouraging tissue regeneration in areas that have become overloaded and slow to recover. It can help reduce pain and improve function — particularly in long-standing tendon issues that haven’t responded fully to rest or rehab alone.

At Elevate Physiotherapy, we use shockwave as part of a structured treatment plan — not a quick fix, but a powerful tool alongside progressive strength and load management.

If knee pain is limiting your training, your sport, or even just your stairs at home… it might be time to address the tendon properly.

📩 Get in touch to see if shockwave is right for you.

• MYTH BUSTER - You don’t need to be injured to see a Physio.

Physiotherapy isn’t just for when something has gone wrong.
It’s for when you want to:

• Move better
• Get stronger
• Prevent recurring niggles
• Improve performance
• Understand your body properly

So many people wait until they’re in pain before booking.

But the real progress?
It happens when we assess movement patterns, identify weaknesses, and build a plan before something starts holding you back.

Whether you’re training for an event, getting back into the gym, or just fed up of that low-level tightness that never quite shifts…
You don’t have to wait for it to get worse.

Book your appointment and let’s keep you moving well.

✨ Not Sure Which Appointment to Book? Here’s a Quick Guide… ✨

At Elevate, we offer three appointment types — and each serves a different purpose. Choosing the right one helps you get the best results, faster.

🏥 Physiotherapy
Book this if you have a new injury, persistent pain, or a movement issue you can’t quite figure out.
Your first session includes a detailed history, full assessment and diagnosis — so we can get to the root cause. Treatment may include hands-on therapy, tailored exercise programmes and structured rehab planning.
👉 Ideal for: new injuries, joint pain, recurring problems, post-surgery recovery.

💆 Sports Massage
Best for tight muscles, general aches, or maintenance.
A focused, hands-on soft tissue treatment designed to release tension, improve circulation and support recovery. Perfect if you know your body responds well to massage or you’re looking to stay on top of training load.
👉 Ideal for: muscle soreness, stiffness, recovery and injury prevention.

🏃 Sports Rehabilitation
This is your progression phase.
If you’re coming back from injury and want structured strengthening, movement retraining and a clear return-to-sport or return-to-gym plan, this bridges the gap between being “out of pain” and being back to full performance.
👉 Ideal for: rebuilding strength, confidence and performance after injury.

📌 Quick Guide:
* New injury or pain → Physiotherapy
* Tight muscles or maintenance → Sports Massage
* Returning to sport or gym after injury → Sports Rehabilitation

Still unsure? Just get in touch — we’re happy to guide you 💬
