Joe, who began his Supported Internship just three weeks ago, has fully embraced his role and is settling in exceptionally well. Today, he learned how to make pizzas using the restaurant’s stone ovens, a new skill he approached with pure enthusiasm.

The Head Chef shared the following feedback about Joe’s performance:
“I am extremely pleased with Joe’s progress so far. He has demonstrated a level of skill and professionalism that exceeds expectations for his stage of development. In fact, I have worked with Junior Chefs in the past who were not operating at Joe’s current level.”

Well done, Joe, keep up the excellent work!

Today, we had the pleasure of presenting to delegates at the EMCCA SEND Community of Practice: Careers Leaders & Enterprise Advisers Conference in Renishaw.

We shared insights about Landmarks Specialist College, highlighting our educational pathways, the impactful work of our Wayfinder Team, and the success of our Supported Internship Programme.

The highlight of the session was being joined by Kevin, a former intern, who spoke about his journey through his Supported Internship and his continued employment with Greene King. It was fantastic to hear how his role has grown, with his working hours increasing since his initial offer, a real testament to the success of our programme and his personal development.

It was a proud moment to showcase the difference our partnerships and dedicated teams make in helping learners achieve meaningful employment outcomes.

Brodie has made an excellent start to his Supported Internship at Clumber Park.

After successfully completing two weeks of structured in-house training, he has now transitioned smoothly into his kitchen placement. His induction period has clearly prepared him well, and he is already beginning to take ownership of his daily tasks with growing confidence.

Brodie has quickly established himself as a reliable and motivated member of the kitchen team. He approaches each task with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, reflecting both a positive work ethic and strong commitment to his placement. Importantly, he has demonstrated a solid understanding of food safety and hygiene, which underpins everything he has undertaken so far.

Overall, Brodie is making very promising progress. His proactive attitude, ability to follow instructions carefully, and commitment to maintaining high standards suggest he is well on the way to building the skills and confidence required to thrive in a catering environment.

Well done, Brodie!

Today, Jonny attended a meet-and-greet at The Brentwood Hotel, where he is about to embark on his Supported Internship placement, and he made an outstanding impression!

During his visit, he toured the hotel, pub, and kitchen, engaging warmly with the welcoming team and seizing every opportunity to demonstrate his professionalism.

Dressed smartly for the occasion, Jonny impressed everyone with his confident introductions, thoughtful questions, and clear communication of his previous experience in Hospitality and Catering. He also provided references and outlined his skills, giving his employer a strong sense of his passion and commitment.

Jonny actively participated in practical tasks throughout the visit, pouring a pint behind the bar, loading the dishwasher, and explaining to the housekeeping team how he would prepare a hotel room for guests. These contributions showcased both his initiative and his practical knowledge.

It was a fantastic morning in which Jonny’s confidence, enthusiasm, and expertise truly stood out. His dedication to making the most of every opportunity is inspiring, and we are extremely proud of his achievements.

Good luck, Jonny!

First Day at Florentine!

It’s Joe’s very first day on his Supported Internship at Florentine, and he’s already making a fantastic start!

As part of his induction, Joe dived straight into the Meal Specifications booklet, learning all about the dishes he’ll be helping to prepare. After carefully following the guidance, he’s already moved on to veg and salad prep.

Joe listened closely to the demonstration and is now confidently working through the tasks with focus and determination.

Well done, Joe, a brilliant start to your placement. We can’t wait to see what you achieve next!
