A creative way to prepare for Easter!
On went the Easter parade playlist, and the resident’s were ready to go!
We always enjoy getting creative at our arts and crafts club.
The residents chose to make a start on their Easter bonnets for our up and coming Competition in April.

A karaoke evening for our residents here at April park.
We all had a fantastic time, and the residents were keen to show us their skills on the mic! Resident Eileen was channeling her inner Dolly, and gave us a fantastic performance in the lounge.
Then of course, how can we forget about our very own spice girls (Staff members) for visiting the residents in their rooms for a singalong!🎶

Last week, the residents have have enjoyed walks to the local shop, helping staff out with little jobs, getting things ready for st Patrick’s day🍀, planting a lovely rose in the the memorial garden 🌹 & a late night karaoke singalong🎤. The karaoke was a big hit and there will be a video coming later this week🎶

We had a go at origami this week , which was a challenge to say the least , origami is the traditional Japanese art of folding paper into decorative or representive shapes such as animals 🐈🦓, flowers 🌹🪷etc

Here is one of our residents having a go at making a peach 🍑, let’s just say we spent more time confused and laughing than anything else

Love is in the air at April Park and the residents have enjoyed a Valentines Cocktail Evening and themed tea.
The bubbly was flowing, and the residents added their desired mixtures to their cocktails!
One of which was a tasty Cranberry and Strawberry Prosecco spritzer!
We also enjoyed sharing stories, word searches and a selection of nibbles for tea.
There was a fantastic atmosphere with music, and lots of laughter. 🎶
One resident commented; “Wow!, what a brilliant evening, I wasn’t expecting all of this, the tables, the decorations…Thank you, it’s been lovely”.💕💘💌

The residents were keen to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year this month by getting creative in Arts and crafts.
We hosted an arts and crafts coffee morning for residents & family members and created some fantastic art work!
We also made some Chinese lanterns and fortune cookies, and we are looking forward to creating a fantastic display within the home for the year of the horse.🧧

Wildlife week!🐾🐝🦔
This week has been focused on Britain’s beautiful wildlife!
It’s important that we support our wildlife and create wildlife friendly places.
The added bonus being access to nature improves the mental health and wellbeing of our residents.
This week we have been busy making Bird Feeders, Bug Hotels, and creating a wonderful wildlife display. Residents have also enjoyed a spot of bird watching and photography.🦅

iPads are excellent ways to assist residents living with dementia.
They have access to support with cognitive stimulation, reminiscence therapies and can also improve communication.
Residents particularly enjoyed The supermarket game. This involved remembering items from the shopping list and selecting these items in the store before checking out.📱🩷

Residents also enjoyed a fun filled games morning playing connect 4, Dominoes, word scrabble and many more.
