You could bring/ suggest to someone who you know need help to get out of their thoughts and into their body.

The practice of yoga asana (postures) is to settle the body; to find comfortable stillness.

You might have discomfort from heavy physical work or from sitting or standing in the same position for a long time. Driving, camping, working…

Either way the ancient yoga asana are aimed at healing exactly this-life’s effects on the body-and in doing so finding ease in postures, ease the mind and peace in the heart.

I’m shedding a name!🏌️‍♂️🏋️

I started my page with a plan to offer local sunrise classes. Now I’m offering yoga in the evenings throughout the year, planning according to the light and lunar cycles.

What’s your barrier to coming? You don’t need: leggings, sanity, flexibility, stability or to look a particular way to experience these benefits: stress reduction, a more stable body & mind, better health, injury reduction, better fitness and a sense of ease.

Yoga on Sunday 11th May will focus on the lumbar spine; a place which often bears the strain of both inactive and active lifestyles and is a common source of pain and injury. 🏋️🛼🖥️🪑

Having experienced bulging discs in this area I know that it's no joke when it goes wrong! Suddenly regular tasks and even just sitting down become challenging. Mental effort and resilience is needed to work through the recovery and relearn how to move on with this new found normal.

We'll look at moving with focus on lumbar stability and avoiding injury. 🏥

Let me know if you would be interested in a weekly or fortnightly online meditation class? Once I have a suitable space at home I am planning to offer this as a 30min Zoom class. 🙏

Are you breathing through your nose?

Regularly I notice myself breathing and am surprised at how often I am sighing, yawning or holding my breath, did you know these can all be signs of stress and sub-optimal breathing?

Having studied yoga and breathwork, for me this is one of the most impactful practices: noticing the breath, then tuning into nose, slow and low. Nasal breathing, slowing the exhalation and using the diaphragm.

In this week's class I will guide you to improve breathing efficiency using thoracic rotation. expect gentle, mindful asana with breathwork, meditation and relaxation.
