Where To Start & What To Prioritise On Your Journey…
The world of health and fitness is an absolute minefield full of amazing content and also a load of… s**t lol
Which genuinely makes it hard for a lot of people to get the results that they want in the best, most enjoyable and safest way possible!
Here are a few things I would focus on right now If I was starting from the absolute beginning:
Nutrition 🥙
- Keep a food diary for the first 7 days of your journey. At the end of the 7 days, analyse the good and the bad of whats been going on. Make small and sustainable changes to your nutrition that are going to give you the best value.
- When it comes to water simply aim for 2-3 litres per day to start off with.
- Consume a good amount of fruit and vegetables each day to provide you with the amazing benefits that micronutrients bring.
Exercise 🏋️♂️🧘♀️
- Get outside and walk! Simple but effective. Great for the body and the mind.
- Work out a routine of exercise that suits what you like and your lifestyle. Going from zero to 5 intense days per week rarely works out for people. Start off with a couple of times per week building up the intensity and volume gradually.
- Make sure you warm up and mobilise properly. An area that is so often ignored by most but one that you will regret as you get older, start training more or if injuries crop up.
Mindset & Habits 🧠
- Set yourself targets and goals. Whether it’s weekly, monthly or an event of some sorts. You will get a lot out of having a goal and something meaningful being a driving force behind getting things done.
- Exercise even when you don’t want to. Going and getting done any form of working out even if it’s lower intensity will give you much more benefits than sitting on the sofa doing nothing.
- Building habits around getting good sleep is essential in my opinion. Build good habits around this and everything around your recovery, performance, cognitive abilities etc will all improve.
