Rosh Hashanah is celebrated with prayer, reflection and symbolic food that express hopes for a sweet new year.

Key tradition includes attending synagogue service with special prayers and readings, and blowing the horn (a ram's horn) to signify awakening and new beginnings. The lovely people living with us enjoyed this service and had a good time.

Celebrating More...Creativity with Judith!

We are delighted to shine a spotlight on one of the very creative ladies living with us, Judith. With a rich background in various amature dramatic societies, she has had numerous opportunities to showcase her theatrical talent over the years. Her passion for drama and storytelling continues to inspire us all.

Recently, she proposed a wonderful idea to perform a snippet from Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland — the whimsical Mad Hatter’s Tea Party scene. This delightful performance was brought to life through a collaboration between those living with us and staff, and it was a resounding success! Family and friends thoroughly enjoyed the show, and it sparked joy and laughter throughout our home.

What made the event even more special was the enthusiastic involvement of our staff, many of whom volunteered their time and talent to take part. Their participation has helped create a beautiful atmosphere of creativity, purpose, and inspiration within our care home.

Thanks to Judith’s initiative and spirit, we’re excited to continue exploring new and imaginative activities that bring our community closer together!

Appletree Court

Appletree Court is a purpose-built care home offering elderly residential, nursing and dementia care. A professional team has furnished the home to a high standard, providing elegance and comfort. The 'home from home' feel at Appletree Court is created by the dedicated staff who have been selected not only for their professional ability but also for their commitment to truly making a difference for the people in their care. Resident’s rooms are spacious and feature en suite facilities. The communal areas are at the centre of what makes Appletree Court a real community whether it be at meal times or when enjoying activities. There are no fixed visiting hours so friends and family can come and see residents at any time. The dining experience at Appletree Court boasts fine home cooking by a professional Chef who has created a menu to reflect the interests and tastes of the discerning residents. Activities and day trips are an integral part of the resident’s well being. The activities coordinator encourages and helps residents continue with existing interests and also introduces new hobbies. Frequently residents are taken on day trips near and a little further from the home. The trips are very popular and recently, days out to Southend on Sea, Brent Cross Shopping Centre, RAF Museum Colindale, Crews Hill Garden Centre and Paradise Wildlife Park, Broxbourne have been greatly enjoyed. Respite care at Appletree Court is very popular and enables those wishing to experience what the Home has to offer before making a full commitment.
