Jami’s Senior Mental Health Education and Su***de Prevention Manager, Philippa Carr, joined Elliot Coburn, Public Affairs and Campaigns Manager at Samaritans, at the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Su***de and Self-Harm Prevention at Westminster.
Philippa attended the AGM and launch of the new BSI Guidance on Su***de and the Workplace — the first nationally significant resource of its kind, developed with su***de prevention charities and sector experts. This guidance marks an important step in helping employers understand the crucial role they can play in preventing su***de.
We’re also pleased to share that Liz Twist MP has been re-elected as Chair of the APPG. Liz has previously visited Head Room
, Jami’s social enterprise café in Golders Green, hosted an MP drop-in for Jami, and highlighted our su***de prevention work in Parliament.
Jami is honoured to contribute to the vital work of the APPG in preventing su***de.

Our Women’s Health & Wellbeing Event brought together an amazing group of women for an inspiring session with Dr Ellie Cannon — NHS and private GP, health columnist, and media medical expert.
Dr Ellie shared insights from her latest book and answered thoughtful questions during an open Q&A, creating a safe space for women to discuss important topics. 📕
Thank you to everyone who joined us and look out for more women only events at Head Room, Jami’s social enterprise café, supported by The Maurice Wohl Charitable Foundation. 🧡

We are the Mental Health service for our community.
For 30 years Jami has provided practical and emotional support for the mental health of the Jewish community. Jami’s vision is a Jewish community which accepts, acknowledges and understands mental illness. A community which is resilient and has the capacity and capability to be healthy. A community in which symptoms of mental illness are as recognisable as a heart attack and trigger an equally appropriate First Aid response. A community in which Parity of Esteem is a reality and an environment which helps, not hinders recovery.
We work with individuals, communities and organisations to help prevent mental illness from developing, improve early intervention and promote wellbeing.
We understand that everyone’s experience of mental illness is different. We provide practical and emotional support for everyone affected by a mental health problem, the person with the diagnosis, friend, relative or employer. This includes:
Supporting around 1,300 people at any one time and reaching thousands more through our community education
Delivering approximately 27,000 separate provisions of service annually
Employing 52 Mental Health professionals
Operating programmes from 4 Community Hubs and 2 Enterprise Hubs
