Kerri Sherrard - Family Osteopath Kerri Sherrard Family Osteopath Kerri graduated from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005.

She has subsequently completed a further 2 year Diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy at the Osteopathic Centre for Children (OCC). She still works for the OCC once a week, treating babies and children as well as pregnant and post-partum mums. Kerri also works as a clinic tutor at the British School of Osteopathy, supervising undergraduate osteopaths in the school clinic. Kerri has experience working w

ith patients of all ages, and a whole range of conditions and problems, including patients with various disabilities. Kerri is a dedicated and enthusiastic osteopath who loves her job, and is creative and imaginative in formulating management plans tailor-made to suit each individual patient. Many parents seek osteopathic appointments for babies and children with colic, reflux, feeding and sleeping difficulties, ear and other recurrent infections, behaviour poblems as well as musculoskeletal problems. People also attend osteopathic consultations for relief from arthritic pain, neck and back problems, frozen shoulder, headaches, pain and dysfunction during pregnancy and many other issues.

An important message for your kids going back to school - essentials only in their bags and carry them on both shoulders, always!

🎒📚💼 Back to school, with heavy books on their shoulders 🎒📚💼

We have all carried our entire school on our shoulders – metaphorically speaking of course! What most of us have done, is carry our backpacks and satchels over one dominant shoulder.

But a heavy and incorrectly placed backpack can pull a child backward. Our children may then bend forward at the hips or arch their back to counterbalance the weight. The spine then compresses unnaturally, which may lead to shoulder, neck and back pain.

For the sake of our kid’s health, let’s remember that doctors recommend that children carry no more than 10-20% of their body weight on their back.
