Edinburgh Wide, Community (not Home) Based

Community Connector / Networker / Business Development

Looking for a role that fits around term time and school hours – and lets you see the direct results of your work? Join Home Instead in this Community Connector / Business Development role.

This is not a work-from-home job – you’ll spend most of your time out in the community, building new relationships on your own and following up to build trust and deep connections. You’ll attend and host events; maintain a database of contacts & develop and deliver information leaflets to them - all with the goal of generating more clients and care professionals for Home Instead.

Due to the nature of the job you’ll need your own reliable transport. Please explain about this when applying.

You’ll spend limited time in the office to share insights, connect with the rest of the team, and track and measure the impact of your work.

We’re looking for someone who is:
> Confident and proactive at starting conversations
> Skilled at following up to build trust and deepen relationships
> Motivated by results and able to demonstrate impact
> Organised and independent, with strong attention to detail
> Happy working towards clear targets for outreach and referrals

📅 Around 20 hours per week - during school hours & term time
💻 During school holidays: just keep up with email correspondence and the odd video call with the team
💰 FTE Salary £26k–£28k
🤝 Perfect for someone who loves people, enjoys being out and about, and wants to see their efforts directly grow the business

Eating well plays a big part in living well with dementia 💚

Appetite, tastes and habits can change, but small adjustments can make mealtimes easier and more enjoyable. Try:

- Keeping healthy finger foods like fruit within reach
- Using plain, coloured plates so food stands out clearly
- Serving meals in a calm, quiet space without distractions
- Encouraging a balanced diet with fruit, vegetables, protein and carbohydrates
- Making sure drinks are offered often to prevent dehydration

Good nutrition supports both body and mind. With a little extra thought, mealtimes can remain a positive and comforting part of the day.
