About Laura:
Up to this point, I have dedicated my life to singing professionally around the world. I started my career as a singer in the cover scene, fronting a rock/pop band. Improper breath control, dehydration and late nights in crowded bars gave my vocal cords a beating eventually leading to a nodule (blister on the vocal cord). I had to rehab my voice or my career was over. I was petrified. Thats when I started to study breath work. I dove head first into breathing excersises and vocal techniques and through it, found Yoga. I had no idea how much using yoga postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayama) could not only strengthen my voice and help my technique, but also change other aspects of my life and performance. My confidence, posture, technique, stamina and most importantly, my frame of mind were all reaping the benefits. life has thrown me a fair share of hoops to jump through, and after all of the loss, love, anger, and happiness. The need for grounding was real. As I went on sing and dance in production shows on cruise ships with rigorous physical and mentally challenging schedule, I always found solace on the mat. Yoga was something that regardless where I was, brought me home. I can proudly say that since practicing yoga and proper pranayama regularly I have never missed a show or lost my voice. Proofs in the pudding. Weather your here to strengthen your practice of asanas and pranayama, work on your mindfulness, build strength and flexibility, you’re welcome with open arms .
