The kinesiology journey of the Head of the School of Holistic Kinesiology…
We are excited that Christina Damerell, the founder and principle of Holistic Kinesiology, will be sharing her fascinating insights on ‘Octagons’ with us at the KF Spring Conference in Edinburgh on March 28th.
If you’d like to join us for this fascinating presentation tickets are available at www.kinesiologyfederation.co.uk
Holistic Kinesiology uses a wide range of powerful techniques and balancing methods to help bring you structurally, nutritionally, energetically and mentally back into balance.
Holistic Kinesiologists have exceptional, wide-ranging skills. They listen closely to what you say and to what your body needs and adapt a whole range of therapies and remedies to suit your uniqueness.
Christina feels fortunate to have been led along this path in a job that feeds her at all levels, but how did Christina find Kinesiology and what inspired her to set up her own school?
Kinesiology captured Christina for life on the first morning of the first day of a Touch for Health 1 course in America, when the teacher used muscle testing to ease the pain of a participant's wasp sting on her finger. From that moment Christina realised she just had to keep going....
Soon after her return to Edinburgh, Christina’s curiosity took her to a health fair in Glasgow where she happened on a stall where TFH was being demonstrated and Pat Marron, a TFH instructor, was ready for her next "body". Christina stepped up and became her student to continue her training.
Pat had been trained by Brian Butler, and he came to teach her students sometimes. Christina was lured into attending Sheldon Deal's Updates in London, weekends which she recalls were always intense, hard work and inspiring!
Once she felt confident enough, Christina started working on clients at home as well as renting time in a local clinic, and eventually decided to "go public", so she phoned ‘The Scotsman’ to find out if they were interested in an article about her work. To her delight and surprise, they were looking for a therapy to cover for the last article of a series they'd been running and asked to send a reporter and photographer the very next day! The photographer got their shots and left after 10 minutes, the reporter received a balance and reported in his article that Christina had homed in on one of his current problems – well, yes that's what we do isn't it!
Christina received 15 enquiries from that article, some of whom became clients or students and since then all her work has been the result of referrals.
In the 1990’s Christina completed the TFH Instructor Workshop, with Brian, in London. This would turn out to be his last and he sent his students home with instructions to set up dates for their first course as teachers. Christina followed his advice and 2 of those students are still precious friends.
You may be picking up the thread of so-called coincidences in this story, so it won't surprise you that Christina also "happened upon" an article about the call for registration of complementary therapies written by a woman close to the Bognor Regis TFH Centre, which led her to contact them and attend the inaugural meeting of the KF in London. Christina was the 8th person to pay her subscription and a year or so later became a member of the committee.
Christina clearly has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share so we hope you’ll join us.
