NHSL is delighted to be the first service in Scotland to achieve Stage 1 accreditation for hospital‑based children’s services. Here are Infant Feeding Advisor Helen and Meghan from the Play Team showing off the accreditation.

This UNICEF programme supports parents to achieve and sustain their feeding goals during their hospital stay.

Other NHSL services also have UNICEF Baby Friendly accreditation, helping to ensure consistent, evidence‑based infant feeding support.

Some more photos of donations received. The fluffy bunnies donated by Hanlon Stevenson Foundation found new homes with some of the babies in the hospital who are too little for chocolate although hopefully parents and carers had their share as the Foundation also donated lots and lots of eggs.

Thanks also to James and Mark for the huge donation of eggs too.

We are truly grateful that people take time out of their busy lives to remember the babies, children and young people in hospital.

Special thanks to the Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity for co-ordinating the many, many deliveries to ensure that Margaret and Play Team get them to everyone in hospital.

We would like to clarify that this appeal is not affiliated with us in any way, and at this time, we are not requesting or accepting donations of pushchairs.

We are incredibly grateful for the kindness and generosity of our community, but we kindly ask that you do not bring pushchairs to the hospital in response to this post.

If we ever require donations or support, updates will be shared through our official channels.

Thank you to Aidans Magical Gifts for donating over 200 Easter Eggs to ensure every child in hospital gets an Easter Egg this weekend. They visited Lochranza first where Aidan spent a lot of time when he was younger and then the rest of the eggs were shared around every ward in the hospital. The second photo shows the eggs being organised for distribution. Thank you 🩵

Thursday was World Book Day and Voluntary Services and the Play Team were delighted to be part of the celebrations as part of the POD party organised by Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity. Thanks to Ross, Voluntary Services Manager, and Jackie, our wonderful Mobile Library volunteer for hosting this and to our friends at Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity for providing amazing packs to hand out to the patients and families who visited 💙
