Thought I’d do a little update for everyone.

I have been very quiet on this account recently and in all honestly life has been busy, and juggling multiple accounts has been hard.

So I’ve decided to combine my two accounts and use as my main account. I would love for you to all keep following me on that account, and keep up with the journey!

Sadly I will be closing this account at the end of the week, so if you want to keep following me follow me on

And so today marks Shrove Tuesday and the beginning of Lent tomorrow!

I do always love Shrove Tuesday, growing up we always made it such a family affair making pancakes and it holds dear memories in my heart. This year also marks the first year I’ve made pancakes since my Nan died which makes it even more special!

As someone of faith, Lent not only is a time for challenge, but also a period of 40 days of reflection. Time to look at myself and value the things I hold dear to my heart!

How do you celebrate Lent? And what’s your go to pancake topping?

And just like that I’m on my half term break (a week after most of my teacher friends) but I’m on my break which is amazing!

It’s so nice to have the week to myself and simply just go with the flow. Today I had nothing planned so decided to talk myself on a walk in the Hermitage in Edinburgh. Which despite living 5 minutes walk away I’ve never been to before.

As my partner was at work it was just what I needed for the day. Simply taking myself on a walk was just what I needed. A chance to be alone with my thoughts and take in the wonders of nature around me. Exploring the places near you is the perfect solution for a quiet day. Having somewhere near that you’ve never been to is just perfect!

Edinburgh friends, where should I go next?

Finished my second book of the year yesterday! Which for me is an achievement. Usually it would take me a couple of months to read two books, so I’m very happy to be sticking with my 2025 intention of reading more books!

For me, I was never really in the space for reading but I feel this year is different. I feel this year I’m in the right headspace and am finally reading for enjoyment now. I’ve also challenged myself this year to only read books I’ve never read before. I’ve got so many books on my shelves that I haven’t touched so this is the year!

What are your top book suggestions?

Reminiscing for when I was back in Greece in June!

Oh how life has changed since then. When I was last on holiday I was still studying for my dream job, but now I’m in my dream job, living my best life and being surrounded by the people who matter the most.

It’s amazing how things change so quickly and how much they change for the better! I am so lucky to be surrounded by my family, best friends and my amazing and wonderful partner who have all made this dream a reality! If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be currently living my ultimate dream!

Surround yourself by the people who truly lift you up and make you feel confident in yourself, and boost you every single day! They are the ones who truly matter!

As Mary Poppins once said “Anything can happen if you let it”.

For me this happened on Saturday when I ran the 10km. Something that last year I thought would have been impossible. As an asthmatic myself running great length seemed like a massive undertaking but it is possible. Which is also why it was just as important for me to run in aid of and in memory of my Nan.

Anything is possible if you put your mind to it! It’s amazing what you can achieve. For me with the support of I have been able to push myself past my conceived limits and achieve things I used to think were impossible. I think what I’m trying to say with this post is don’t say no to things just because you think it’s impossible, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

I captured this photo on Tuesday on my way back from the gym and thought it perfect fitted in with theme of Awakening.

I don’t know about you but it seems that the beginning of this week was the start of Spring’s awakening. The weather was warmer, the sun was gleaming and the blossom was well and truly in bloom!

For me spring this year is an interesting time. It marks the beginning of the final chapter of my PGDE. I started my final teaching placement this week and only have 6 weeks left till I’m finished uni. Don’t get me wrong it’s an exciting feeling knowing I’ll be on my NQT year on August but at the same time very daunting.

The things in life that often scare us the most are the ones that lead to something exciting! Bring on the warmer and brighter weather!

A sign of brighter times to come! I don’t know about you but the sudden burst of colour that has appeared this wee has certainly brightened my mood.

One of the prompts for spring is palette and I feel it’s a very apt one for this time of year. I love the colour palette of spring. It’s a sign of lighter times to come and a fresher mind.

Spring is the time of the year that brings me a brighter mind and a time to simply reset and refocus. The last month for me has been very busy, coming to the end of my degree and moving in with my partner. These pops of colours have really got me in the mood for more exciting things to come.

Going back to the theme of Nature with this photo from a few days ago of the glorious sun on my walk back from school.

I’m not going to lie, the weather recently hasn’t been helping me stay positive and focussed. However, the glimpse of sun recently has brightened my mood and has given me a hope of brighter days to come.

This year has been proving to bring a lot of excitement into my life. A lot of adventures ahead of me and some new chapters in my life beginning. Although the weather has been dark recently, there are brighter times to come and some warmer weather is definitely on the way!

I can’t wait for the adventures to come this year!

Day 21 of is Rest and that is exactly what I did last week. Me and my partner went down to London for a few days of rest.

Well it’s safe to say it was exactly what I needed. A few days of being away with my partner, doing things at our own pace and just relaxing was perfect. And doing plenty of walking too.

Since Christmas isn’t doesn’t feel like I’ve really had much rest and this week away has been exactly what I needed. With uni, placement and work it’s been hard to find a time to simply stop and take things at your own pace. So a few days in London was the perfect.

Always remember that it’s important to take time for yourself and allow yourself a chance to slow down and rest.

Anyone who knows me will know that I’ve been dipping in and out of reading through my life but 2024 I have really got back into reading and challenging myself to read more.

When one of the themes was I knew this would be the perfect theme to talk about.

There is nothing I am loving more at the moment than spending time delving into a book. Agatha Christie for me is the perfect escapism, following the cases of Poirot, Tommy and Tuppence and Miss Marple. The way I can just escape for an hour is sheer bliss!

What’s your favourite book to escape with?
