Counselling with Jackie

Counselling with Jackie Hi Folks,
Life is messy right? Ever feel like your brain is so full and you can’t work through it?

Well that is one of the many things therapy can help with, my name is Jackie Quinn and I have been a Psychotherapist for over 5 years. Well that is one of the many things therapy can help with, my name is Jackie Quinn and I have been a Psychotherapist for over 5 years working predominantly with clients who experience mental health issues and childhood trauma. I trained as a person-centred therapis

t and over the past 4 years have had read extensively and attended as many CPD courses as I can. I am a sex-positive therapist and am kink friendly/knowledgeable. I believe nobody should be made to feel uncomfortable in my counselling room, therefore you can be confident in the knowledge that I will not judge your choices. Every client is treated with the same dignity and respect, equality is extremely important and i am always open to learning and adapting. In the current world climate more and more finding a safe, private and non-judgmental space to sort through our thoughts is becoming harder and harder. I work for a non-profit organisation here in Edinburgh and have some space for private clients. I predominantly work from home either through phone session or Zoom but I can offer face-to-face appointments on a Sunday and Monday in the Blackhall area of Edinburgh. So you’re here on my page which leads me to believe that you are thinking of looking for help…Yay you! The first step is often the hardest so you are here, what is therapy I hear you ask, so here is the official blurb:

I will provide a confidential, non-judgemental, safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and life patterns. Together we will explore your life situation and establish your desired goals. The aim of the counselling process is not for counsellors to solve client’s problems, rather a way to assist the growth process and self-awareness so you as the client are better equipped to deal with current and future problems. Therapy is different for everyone, I adapt my way of working and pace of working to each individual client. Therapy should not be thought of as a race to feel better, it is a marathon that at times can be painful and emotional but with a real sense of achievement at the end. There are no set time frames, some people just need a couple of sessions to work on something whereas others find therapy is a staple in their life. There are no expectations on you or set goals, you are free to make them as you go along but they are never enforced on you and should always be thought of as flexible. Regardless of how your journey goes and what ups and downs you may face, I will be jogging alongside you, encouraging and supporting the whole time. Some of the issues I work with regularly are:
Mental health struggles
Depression
Anxiety
Trauma
Anger management
Work/life related stress
Life/lifestyle changes
Sexual issues
Sexuality
Relationship problems
Kink Aware
LGBTQ Friendly
Self-esteem and confidence issues
This list is not exclusive or exhaustive so please feel free to contact me directly to discuss if I am the right therapist for you. I am fully aware that finding the right therapist is key to the success of your therapeutic journey, I also know that not everyone clicks, with this in mind I happily offer introduction sessions at a reduced rate. This allows you to ‘try’ before you buy, you get a chance to meet me, see how I work and decide if it is the right fit for you. Introductory first session call/zoom £25 (45 Mins)
