We have received a huge volume of calls about Meningitis vaccines today.
Answers...
1 We cannot get Men B vaccine just now but we can get Men ACWY vaccine.
2 We don't know anyone else who has MenB stock but we will keep trying to order.
3 Your teenager got ACWY meningitis vaccine at school age 14ish not menB
4 children born 2015 onwards got MenB as part of their childhood vaccines.
5 if you were born before 2015 you have not had MenB vaccine unless you paid for it.
6 Men B vaccine is usually 2 doses at least a month apart. (3 for younger children)
7 MenB stock is being used to vaccinate those most at risk to minimise the outbreak spread. Stock will become available at a later date and you will be the first to know.

Are you concerned about the meningitis outbreak in Kent?

We have had lots of phone calls and we are trying to get hold of vaccines. Understandably they are in short supply. We will keep you posted. Please ask if you have any questions.

Those over 11 years old need two doses of meningitis B vaccine a month apart. In 2015 it became part of the baby vaccine schedule.

Meningitis ACWY is given at school around age 14.
