According to the WHO, an estimated 1 in 7 (14.3%) of 10–19-year-olds worldwide experience mental health conditions.

Despite this significant number, many of these young people remain unrecognized, untreated, and unsupported.

Early recognition, intervention, and access to appropriate care are crucial to help young people thrive and prevent long-term challenges.

Raising awareness of youth mental health is a shared responsibility - from families and schools to healthcare systems and communities.

Treating ADHD is not one-size-fits-all - but it is manageable ✨

While there’s no “cure” for ADHD, many children and adults find real improvement with the right combination of behavioral therapy, medication, and support at school or work.

For children, parent training also plays a crucial role; helping families improve communication, reinforce positive behavior, and build a more supportive home environment.

Every person’s journey is different, which is why ongoing monitoring and flexibility are key. The goal is to find what works best - and to keep adjusting as needed.

While there's no guaranteed way to stop depression before it starts, social connection is one of the strongest protective factors, says Dr. Jessica Stern of NYU Langone Health.

Building and maintaining healthy relationships can help reduce both the likelihood and the severity of depression.

Often, it’s friends and family who first notice the signs - like withdrawing, missing appointments, or struggling to get out of bed -and guide loved ones toward getting help.

But those who are isolated may go unnoticed and untreated, which can deepen symptoms!

Cultivating a more positive mindset doesn’t happen overnight, but with consistent habits and conscious effort, it can transform the way you experience life.

Shift your focus from what’s missing to what’s working, and make space each day to recognise even the small wins.

Also, surround yourself with people who uplift and challenge you, practice gratitude regularly, and reframe setbacks as opportunities to grow.

A positive mindset isn’t about ignoring challenges; it’s about choosing how you respond to them!

Bipolar disorder is about 80% genetic, but environment plays a big role too. If you have a close relative with the condition—or other mental health issues—you may be at higher risk. But genes alone aren’t the whole story.

⚡️ Triggers like:

- Stress
- Sleep issues
- Trauma
- Substance use
..can all interact with genetics to “switch on” the condition.

Many go misdiagnosed for years, often confused with other mental health struggles or masked by substance use. The good news?
Proper diagnosis and treatment can change everything.

If you think you may be affected, talk to your doctor. Support is out there.

Certain groups are more vulnerable, including women, older adults, and anyone with a personal or family history of depression.

Other factors include chronic stress, existing mental or physical health conditions, low socioeconomic status, and even some medications, such as certain birth control or anxiety treatments. Recognising these risk factors can help with early support and intervention!
