When you receive your invitation and the date and time does not suit please call- 0131 537 7400 and we can organise an new appointment.

This is a brilliant video about the importance of going for you Breast Screening appointment once you receive your invitation through the door.

When you get your screening appointment will depend on the GP practice you're registered with. Don't worry if your appointment doesn't arrive as soon as you turn 50. Each GP practice takes part in the screening programme every three years so you may not receive your first invitation until you're nearly 53.

Breast Cancer Now website has 3 steps for checking your breast :-

1 - Touch your breasts - Can you feel anything new unusual

2 - Look for changes - Does anything look different

3 - Check any new unusual changes with your GP.

1 in 8 women in Scotland will develop breast cancer and is the most common cancer in women. Remember though, if caught early you're 5 times more likely to survive - so please attend your screening when invited or reschedule for a time that suits you!
