An autumn meadow update!

Our gardener Naomi has been busy with the autumn cut, carefully scything the Seilich meadow.

While mowing, she heard a faint squeaking and discovered a tiny field mouse nest tucked beneath a tussock of grass.

A beautiful reminder that these meadows are so much more than just wildflowers - they’re thriving habitats, home to countless small creatures who depend on them for shelter, food, and safety.

By using traditional techniques like scything, we’re able to manage the meadow in a way that supports biodiversity, allowing wildlife to flourish alongside the plants. Every corner of this space plays a role in keeping the ecosystem healthy and balanced.
