I fu***ng beat cancer!!! ❤️‍🔥🤛🏼

Got the results this week - the most surreal time, a crazy mix of emotions these last few days since getting the news, I'm still in shock I think!! Some moments I fully believe it, other times I just keep thinking to myself what the f*ck Jennifer!!

The last 3 months have been wild, but also an incredible time. I’ve felt so strong, determined and so proud of my body and mind.

Life is amazing 💖💖

OLEKSIY TOROKHTIY SEMINAR, 13-14 May 2023 🇺🇦🏋🏻‍♂️

Last weekend, I attended Torokhtiy’s 2 day theoretical and practical seminar - going over exercise techniques, the principles and methods of training for Olympic Weightlifting.

A little background info on Oleksiy - he has been weightlifting for over 20 years. He competed in the Olympics in 2008 and 2012, and is a European and World Champion in Olympic weightlifting.

On Saturday we went over the Sn**ch, while on Sunday we focused on the Clean + Jerk.

Both days started off with theory, for about 1hr-1.5hrs. Lots of notes!! Then we spent time working with the PVC stick (very light!), practicing the movements and going over the drills. Lots and lots of reps!

After lunch, we started using barbells to continue going over the drills and movement patterns. After this, Oleksiy drew up a programme for us to follow - the choice to stick to around 50-55% (of your 1RM), and work on technique and volume. Alternatively, you could build up to your 1RM and push the weights! Of course, I chose this option (cause how often do you get to train in front of a former Olympian, European champion + world champion) 🥳🥳

Really buzzing to get 2 PBs
~ 36kg sn**ch (big jump forward)
~ 47.5kg clean + power jerk

An amazing weekend! I learned so much, lots of new drills! New techniques on coaching and practicing the movements. Lots to take into my own training and that of my clients too!

Lots of reflections over the weekend too - too much to share, so that is for another post!

I love training and I love oly lifting, and this weekend made me fall even more in love with this sport ❤️‍🔥

A fun, challenging, HUMBLING day last Saturday taking part in Cavefit Games with ❤️‍🔥🤩

Our first ever fitness comp, good to push ourselves in terms of training in this style. And very useful to have this as a benchmark going forward - knowing what areas we want to improve! 🤩

Proud of you Katie for pushing the most you have ever done, and rising to the challenge and giving it your all 🤛🏼

A great first week of 2023!! 🚀

Most of my clients are back after the Christmas holidays and they are smashing it the first week back. Majority of clients have set goals related to their training (both inside and outside the gym) and we are excited to start working towards them ❤️‍🔥🏋️‍♂️

Some of the goals include - strength targets, improved fitness, 5k runs, half marathons and fitness competitions 🚀🫀

My own training has been off to a great start!! Really happy with how I finished 2022, and excited to keep pushing this year. Really want to improve my strength (leg strength is a big focus) and improve my fitness levels too (adding in more conditioning and a couple of short runs each week).

If you had a great start to 2023, that’s AMAZING.

If the first week didn’t go as planned, that’s is OKAY.

1 week is 2% of the year. Overall, that 2% isn’t gonna to make a huge difference. What will make a difference is if you let that 1 week turn into 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks… THAT will make a difference.

Get ready for the week today and make tomorrow your fresh start 💫

Excited to make 2023 the best year yet!! 🚀🚀 And with that.. some exciting news.. !!

I’m now freelance at 🏋️‍♂️🚀

This means I will no longer work for Pyre Gym (no more classes from me sadly!)

Instead, this now gives me more time to focus on my clients and to grow my business further. I’m really grateful, proud and excited to be starting the year in this position.

If you want to take a week off training, that is OKAY.

If you want to continue training, that is OKAY.

If you want to alter your training schedule over the festive period, that is OKAY.

Enjoy yourself, enjoy resting, enjoy time with your family and loved ones, enjoy ALL the food and enjoy being in the moment.

1 week off is not going to affect your progress in the long run, it’s a journey, so enjoy every moment of it ❤️‍🔥
