We want to extend our sincere thanks to all our incredible staff for coming together to celebrate the vibrant and meaningful festival of Onam.

Rooted in rich mythology — commemorating the Vamana avatar of Lord Vishnu, the beloved return of Emperor Mahabali, and traditions linked to Kashyapa and Parashurama — Onam is truly a festival of unity, joy, and cultural heritage.

Our celebration was nothing short of magical — full of colour, laughter, traditional games, and a spirit of togetherness that brought everyone closer. It was a joyous, educational, and truly unforgettable experience that highlighted the beauty of diversity in our community.

🌟 Alpaca Visit at the Home! 🦙💛

We had a truly wonderful visit from three beautiful alpacas this week! It was such a fantastic experience — not only were they absolutely adorable, but their soft, gentle presence brought so much joy to everyone.

Residents outside the Avenue Suite gathered on the patio and enjoyed the lovely weather and the peaceful company of our furry guests. It was a heartwarming day on the home's beautiful grounds, filled with smiles, laughter, and a few curious nuzzles!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this special visit happen. 🥰

Mr Angus Skinner, a resident at Murrayfield House, was born in Pakistan in 1950. He lived there until the age of 4, as both parents were missionaries. Recently, Angus expressed a heartfelt wish for the home to arrange a pakistani cultire day.

Angus said 'there is no birth certificates in 1950 in Pakistan'.

Thanks to the talented chefs at Murrayfield House, some of the residents were able to enjoy a beautifully prepared, freshly cooked homemade Pakistani meal in our exclusive private dining room, The Anty. This special event truly brought a sense of home to Angus, allowing him to reconnect with his roots and share his history with fellow residents.

It was a wonderful day of culture, community and connection.
