Daily inputs matter movement, sunlight, grounding, conscious breathing but support like reflexology & breathwork can really help support you.

Because some people are stuck in a high-alert nervous system state, where it’s hard to slow down on their own and hard to feel safe in their body.

In those moments environment matters and so does the practitioner. Sometimes having guided support makes it easier for the body to soften, settle and regulate.

Small inputs, repeated often, change a lot 🤍

Honestly, if I could give one tip for breathwork, it would be to feel rather than overthink.

Technique and structure absolutely have their place in breathwork but sometimes people become so focused on getting every count and inhale “perfect” that they disconnect from the actual experience of breathing.

Think of each breath as a new breath, not another moment to think sh*t I’m still not getting this right and speed up or add force!

Recently someone reached out and asked where they should begin with my treatments. They shared their history of panic attacks and their goal of moving out of a freeze state within the nervous system.

My reply was to begin with the Blended Journey treatment. Why? Because for someone who hasn’t experienced bodywork before, I find it’s a really supportive place to start. It’s good for me to observe how the body responds and how the breath is moving during the treatment.

From there, I’m always analysing what support the body may during what it needs next and what practices we can gently bring in later on. As a breathwork practitioner there are many different routes we can explore to support your nervous system but reflexology can be incredibly grounding and supportive in helping the body feel safe again which is alway the first step when someone comes to me when something like this.

Everything is being processed in the background so quickly we aren’t supposed to notice… it’s only the result we’re left with that we question. Taking time out to actually soothe our mind and body is also being picked up and processed - create balance ✨

It’s been 2 weeks since our day retreat in Perth and I’m still feeling 🥰 from it - let’s catch you up!

I co-host these with .therapy and we blend both of our skills with a focus on healing in nature. 13 amazing people joined us and travelling from all over Scotland to meet us at . It honestly felt like the perfect way to welcome in Spring after that long winter we have just had.

There was something so special about that group… some came alone, some with friends but everyone just clicked. People pushed themselves out there comfort zone, let go and allowed themselves to just be. It was so wholesome and lovely to watch!

I pulled individual cards for everyone beforehand which honestly surprised us all with how accurate they felt for each individual. The chats we had 1:1 when you’ve explained why the card resonated so much actually left me feeling so impacted in the most gorgeous way! We moved, stretched, learnt a self soothing hand reflexology sequence, lay immersed in the sound of bowls, and spent time walking, dipping in the waterfalls and fairy pools.

We chatted, we laughed, we ate my mums homemade curries, sipped on teas I’d made specially for the day and just enjoyed being in fresh air, quiet moments, horses, sauna, hot tub and s’mores by the fire.

So so grateful for everyone who came and made it what it was and can’t wait to see you at our next event 🧚‍♀️

When I studied clinical reflexology it was professional and body focused nothing spiritual, nothing about energy, just a huge focus on how the body works.

And I really like that!

Because I understand both sides. I didn’t come into this work with a spiritual background - I just had a huge pull to feel better within myself.

Since then, I’ve trained in functional and therapeutic breathwork which means it’s very much rooted in the science of the breath too - why it changes, what affects it, and how we can use it to support the whole body. How we release, how we regulate, and how it all has a knock on effect on our emotions, our mechanics etc!

Honestly, when I started this training I was blown away by how much comes back to breathing. Things that I’ve had sleepless nights over googling things to try ‘fix my problems’. Im so aware it can sound so foreign to people. And it’s completely fair enough… because no one told us any of this !!

One of the biggest things for me through breathwork has been my relationship with my own body. I have a history of panic attacks and used to feel very hyper-aware of sensations in a way that was so overwhelming. Didn’t like feeling my heartbeat either as I had a story attached to it.

Now I understand what’s happening. I don’t panic in the same way and I can support myself through it. I’ve worked to bring my nervous system back to a better baseline.

What you might see online like big emotional releases and intense experiences it’s often deeper subconscious breathwork.

What I focus on in my sessions is grounded.

At Body & Soul Therapies there’s a strong focus on coming back to the breath as a foundation. Being aware of your breath is simple (but it’s hard), it’s supportive here, it’s nervous system calming techniques.

Honestly I love this work because I’ve lived it.

I love caring for my clients and I love caring for myself. This work has shaped me in so many ways.

I’m a big believer in a balanced life, finding things that work for you, knowing when it’s time to work on yourself or not at all - I’ve got double libra in my chart!

Wow lol anyway that’s me! Wbu? x x x x
