💛🥇😍🌄💪 Our wee super star Lacey, from Bathgate, reached Scotland's highest point and completed Ben Nevis on Saturday! She did it with a smile and laughed all the way. A gruelling 12hrs! What a trooper. 🎉👏✨

"We are in awe of her and how she done it as it was brutal! We are so very proud of her! She carried her teddy all the way. When Lorna died I bought this and told her gran left it to comfort her since she went to stay with the angels. She named it Loopy as that was what Lorna’s friends called her Loopy Lorna."

What an incredible achievement, we are equally proud of you and knew you would make it. WELL DONE LACEY! 💛😍💛🥳💛

👏📣🥇💛 Meet super star Lacey from Bathgate who is climbing Ben Nevis TODAY in memory of her gran Lorna! We wish her all the very best on this challenging ascent and are so proud of what she is doing for us. 😍

Last weekend this busy young lady hosted a Bake Sale which raised a phenomenal £750 so they are well on their way to their £3000 target. 🥳💪

"As a family we will be forever grateful for the care, kindness and dignity shown to Lorna, and the support given to the family, by Marie Curie.

We would like to now give something back and raise as much money as we can so these amazing angels can continue to care and support other families like ours.

We will be climbing Ben Nevis at the end of May and our 7yr old daughter will be making that walk with us for her amazing gran."

If you would like to show your support of Lacey and her family you can click here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/emma-aitchison-1981

Go Team Lacey, we are behind you every step of the way, and can't wait to see your summit pic 🌄. The best of luck and love from us all.💛🍀

Could your experience help improve end of life care in Scotland?

After Marie Curie supported her mum during a terminal illness, Caroline wanted to give something back. She joined Marie Curie’s Research Voices Group to help make sure people with lived experience of palliative and end of life care can help shape research and influence positive change.

Caroline said:
“I'm not sure what my family would have done without Marie Curie's support when my mum was terminally ill - they helped us a lot and I wanted to give something back.

I'm quite new to the group, but I've already taken part in fantastic training about the history and work of Marie Curie and had the opportunity to participate in research and campaigns. I hope, by being involved in this friendly group, I can make some small difference to Marie Curie's mission to ensure a better end of life for more people.”

If you have experience of palliative and end of life care and want to use your voice to help shape future research, we’d love to hear from you.

👏📣💪 Operation Team Bench Paint - complete ✅ thanks to the wonderful team from Morningstar Wealth, thank you so much!💛

“Firstly, thank you so much for letting us use one of our annual volunteering days at the Edinburgh Hospice.

The weather was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed getting the benches etc. look a little better. We hope the staff and patients get a lot of use out of them – many of those attending said they felt they had made a small difference to the patients by getting the furniture spruced up.

We would be delighted to come back in the autumn to help do a pre-winter tidy up”.

We are so grateful to this brilliant bunch from Morningstar for spending a day with us and making a real difference by gleaming up our garden benches; they look so shiny and new now. Thank you so much. Here's to a long glorious summer now so we can all enjoy special times in our garden. Hope to see you all again soon.

A beautiful afternoon spent with Liz Brown and her wonderful family on Sunday to celebrate Max Brown’s life…and here’s Daisy and Liesl planting flowers in memory of their Papi, making our hospice garden even more beautiful.

Liz will be eternally gratefully to Marie Curie for our support, love, and expert care while Max was terminally ill, and our ongoing support. Max wanted to be at home and with our help he received his wish with his family members around him. Liz is a huge supporter of Marie Curie and has donated a total of £12k - we are so grateful for such a generous gift, £10k of which supports the running of Edinburgh Hospice for one day.

Liz has also joined our Berwickshire Fundraising Group and her son Matthew Brown is participating in the Great North Run in September on behalf of Marie Curie, and we wish Matthew all the very best with his challenge.

Max would have been 59 today…happy birthday Max 🤍

Our Papi

Papi went on walks with us
He told funny ‘dad’ jokes and played with us
He made us laugh and be happy!
He made up a good song about different types of clothing; it was very funny.
We would sing it when we went on walks with the dogs
He would take us shopping all the time and spend time with us.
He meant so much to us and we know he is always watching from above
