📝 Hello,
My name is Rufus. I live in Rhyl, North Wales, and I am 90 years old.
My wife Megan died in 2020. When she was dying, the Marie Curie Nurses were incredible. I don't know how I would have survived without them, as it was the most difficult time of my life.
This March, at 90, I'll be going out as a member of Rhyl Rotary Club to collect for Marie Curie, for Megan and for others like us.
If I can collect at my age, anyone can.

Rufus suffered a serious heart condition this year resulting in an emergency admission to hospital. He was fitted with a pacemaker, and guess what? Within four weeks, he was back collecting at a local supermarket! Thank you so much for your dedication, Rufus 👏👏👏

📣 What a truly delightful visit we had from the P7 Enterprise Project pupils at Buckstone Primary. The group signed up to Make £5 Grow sponsored by Virgin Money UK and raised the staggering amount of £550 for us. Each group was tasked with creating a product and marketing strategy which they then pitched to a panel of judges. What an inspiring, entrepreneurial bunch who are a credit to both their parents and school teacher Zam. Wishing you all the very best for the rest of your time in Primary and for your futures and thank you so much for choosing to support our work. 💛💛💛

The Marie Curie Scottish Hospices in Edinburgh and Glasgow are delighted to be benefitting from an online auction from the Balfe’s Burns Night. This event is organised by Scottish composer Lorne Balfe. Lorne is known for his scores for film, television and video games. The auction has a fantastic range of prizes, with funds raised benefitting hospices across Scotland.

💛 What a delight it was to spend some time with Ramsay and Janice from the The Supreme Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Scotland yesterday and to be able to personally thank them for their very generous gift of £5000. We enjoyed a coffee with the outpatients in the weekly Photography Group in our Wellbeing Centre and a visit to the Wards. Thank you so much for supporting our work; it means a lot. 💛

Hearty hearty thanks to the Hanlon Stevenson Foundation for their ginormous delivery of gorgeous shortbread to our Hospice today. We shall share this between our patients, their families, and our staff. We are so grateful to you for thinking of us in this way and for topping up our biccie tin one hundredfold!💛🍪💛

"Mum's love for fun and games led us to discover she was an "Artist" when playing Pictionary. Her drawings made us howl with laughter. Here's a sample of her talent, to bring a laugh and smile to you".

The family of the late Norma, whom we cared for at home, kindly agreed to the sharing of this adorable collection of Norma's handiwork which is such a beautiful memory to have and cherish. We hope you enjoy this wonderful collection from a fun loving lady. 💛🖍💛

💛🏉💛 We had a wee Volunteers' day out courtesy of the very generous and thoughtful folk at Edinburgh Trams, thank you so much. As one of their charities they very kindly donated a handful of tickets to the 1872 Derby match at Murrayfield and it was a pleasure to treat some of our exceptional volunteers to an afternoon in the stands. We were supporting both sides so it was a winner winner chicken dinner for us all. 💛🐔💛 Happy New Year everyone. 🎉✨🎉

🎉🍾🙌🎆✨Wonderful wonderful thanks to all the incredible boys of Mount Vernon Golf Club based at Liberton Golf Club for paying for the care on New Year's Day at our Hospice. Their support over the many many years - 17 - has been incredible and to date they have raised the exceptional total of £150,065! We are beyond grateful to the Club members for their support and humbled by all they have done for us.
