Lagom Fitness is a specialist personal training service for pre/post-natal women and women in their mid-life years and beyond. Set up by Alexandra Church, it provides safe and effective exercise during pregnancy, restorative and healing post-natal exercise as well as nutritional and dietary advice.
I currently live in St. Boswells in the Scottish Borders with my husband, two children and Lotta the Labrador! I have worked as a personal trainer in London, Dubai and Edinburgh, and it was following the birth of my children that I decided to specialise in pre-and post-natal training.
I have a passion for women’s health and now work with mid-life, peri and post-menopausal women. We are all dealing with a lot of stress in our lives, which is having a proven negative effect on our health. My business concept is based upon the Swedish word ‘lagom’, which although doesn’t have a direct translation, means ‘just right’, ‘in moderation’, ‘not too much, not too little’. This is a fantastic approach to life and can be applied to every aspect of our lives, but especially health and wellness. With so many different health and fitness sites available on-line, it is both amazing to have the wealth of knowledge available to us, but can also be overwhelming knowing where to start, and trying to work out what is best for you. I will work with you to discover what you enjoy, and what you can realistically fit into your day in terms of exercise.
For me, exercise should not be an extra stress, and something that further depletes you, but a positive, enhancing element in your life.
