Investing in Sustainable Spaces for Our Communities

We were proud to officially unveil our newly renovated West Area Office this week alongside employees, stakeholders and members of the Board of Governors.

The transformation of the previously dated office space reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainability, creating a modern, energy-efficient environment that will deliver long-term benefits for both our employees and the residents and customers we support across our communities.

By investing in our workplaces, we are investing in better services, stronger communities and a more sustainable future. Thank you to everyone who helped bring the project to life.

Dementia does not define a person.

At Hanover, we believe people should be supported to continue living meaningful, connected lives with dignity, confidence and choice.

Home has a vital role to play in this. Familiar surroundings, thoughtful design, safe shared spaces, technology-enabled care and compassionate support can all help people feel more secure and connected.

That is why our work to refresh Hanover’s Design Guide is being shaped by best practice and the voices of our residents, helping us create homes and communities that reflect real experiences and real needs.

By rethinking dementia through the lens of dignity, inclusion and possibility, we can help build communities where people are not only supported to live longer, but to live well.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, Hanover is encouraging a wider conversation around stress and wellbeing in later life.

Stress is often linked to younger, working populations, but it can affect older people too, especially during times of change such as retirement, bereavement, changes in health or concerns around home and community life.

At Hanover, we care about our residents’ mental health and wellbeing. That is why we continue to take a proactive approach to listening, learning and responding to customer feedback, whether through general enquiries, service comments or complaints.

If you are a Hanover resident and would like to share feedback on how we can continue to improve our services, please get in touch using our contact form.

One of the challenges highlighted in our latest op-ed is visibility.

Social housing offers a wide range of rewarding career paths, but many young professionals may not realise just how broad the sector is or the variety of roles it includes.

From digital and asset management to community development, finance and care, these roles all play an important part in helping housing providers respond to changing needs and continue supporting communities across Scotland.

As we come to the end of Hearing Loss Awareness Week, we are reflecting on the importance of creating communities where everyone feels included, valued and understood.

At Hanover, we believe homes and services should support people to live life on their own terms. A vibrant community looks different for everyone, whether that means social activity, quieter connection, accessible communication or simply better everyday understanding.

By continuing to raise awareness of hearing loss, we can help challenge outdated perceptions of later life and support a future where people feel confident, connected and at home.

If you or someone you know is looking for a home that supports independence, connection and choice in later life, please get in touch to find out more about Hanover’s available accommodation.
