We were absolutely delighted to welcome our beautiful patient in to collect her new Modo frames and what a joy it was! ✨

They’re already doing incredibly, lightweight and effortlessly comfortable,perfectly suited to her style. Paired with her Nikon lenses with Transitions , she’s now enjoying crystal-clear vision that adapts seamlessly from indoors to outdoors.

Welcome Katie to the practice
We are delighted to welcome Katie Johnston to the team, who will be covering while Maria enjoys her maternity leave.

Katie moved to Edinburgh from Northern Ireland in 2023. After graduating with a first class honours degree from Ulster University, she worked as a mobile optometrist in Belfast, where she loved the variety and independence the role offered.

She finds optometry hugely rewarding and takes real pride in improving patients’ quality of life through better vision. Katie is also passionate about preventative eye care, helping patients understand how best to protect and care for their eyes for the future.

Outside the practice, Katie enjoys keeping active with long walks, swimming, and dancing. She is a member of her local choir and has performed in several concerts during her time in Edinburgh. She also loves exploring new cities and particularly enjoys spending time in Leith, discovering new cafes and restaurants.

We are thrilled to have Katie with us and know our patients will be in very safe hands.
