The Salisbury Centre

The Salisbury Centre Holistic Education Centre Unifying Mind, Body and Spirit

Since 1973 we have offered educational courses, workshops and therapies for spiritual, emotional and physical well-being. The inter-connectedness of body, mind and spirit, as symbolised in the Celtic Trine, is the foundation of our work and we believe that healings and growth arise naturally from this recognition.

Room to Rent + Paid Caretaker Role – The Salisbury Centre

We are looking for a new resident and caretaker! If you would like to live at the Salisbury Centre, we have a room with an ensuite bathroom available on the second floor. Separately, we are also looking for someone to take over caretaking duties in the evenings—see details below. The tenancy and caretaker role could be filled by the same person.

Room available: One self-contained second-floor room with ensuite.

Rent £720/month (all bills included).

Deposit £500. Shared living room, kitchen & bathroom with up to two others. Private Residential Tenancy.

Paid caretaker role (separate contract): Nightly lock-up & security rounds (~15–20 mins/night, 7.5 hours/month). Pay £13.45/hour (PAYE). Caretaking duties are shared between two people (each working 7.5 hours). The other current caretaker is a tenant. Tenancy does not require taking this role – you can decline or resign freely.

Best for: Sociable, community-minded people comfortable sharing space with the public and AirBnB guests.

Accessibility: Second floor not currently wheelchair accessible.

Deadline for application is June 1st.

A gently-held space for facilitators and event organisers to connect and collaborate at The Salisbury Centre.

Join us for the second session of this event on June 1st, 6pm - 9pm. Tickets are available on eventbrite, which is in the link in our bio.

For further details, please read the message below from Marta, one of the hosts of the event:

I am writing this from the perspective of someone who’s held space for many different groups, workshops, events, and communities — and often, felt quite ALONE in the process.

Right now, I facilitate in a reduced capacity, while my day job is to look after the day-to-day of The Salisbury Centre office. In other words, I try to support the events YOU organise as well as I possibly can.

This means I talk to a large and diverse group of the Centre’s users daily. In doing so, I am embedded in a community that has provided me with so much support, belonging, and opportunities for growth over the last five years.

And yet… While surrounded by people, I’m still very connected to the specific flavour of LONELINESS that comes with holding space for others.

As facilitators, spaceholders, practitioners, and organisers, we’re used to putting ourselves to the side to become available for others. I suspect many of you have stepped up to be leaders because you felt like your community needed one. You spent days or weeks planning your events, refreshing that Eventbrite page to check if you’ll at least break even. You improvised when one person showed up to your workshop — or, when you had to accommodate more last-minute attendees than you were ready for.

In short, you’ve poured your heart and soul into your work. And while it may feel rewarding most of the time (hopefully), I know there are also bumps and potholes along the road.

This is where Salisbury Centre Connections come in. Richard and I are hosting this gathering to create a space where you can connect to other facilitators and spaceholders at the Centre — deeply and meaningfully.

We hope to see you at the event on June 1st, please book your ticket now if you are interested in coming along!

We have secured funding for much needed repairs to our East Chimney and upgrades to our rainwater goods!

This essential work will reduce the risk of damage to the roof and water ingress, and further protect the centre from damage from heavy rainfall and storms.

Thank you so much to our generous funders: Suez Communities Fund - Scotland, FCC Communities Foundation , and Historic Environment Scotland

We would also like to thank our architects for their expertise and support: EALA Impacts, Conservation Accredited Architect

Further details will follow, please contact office@salisburycentre.org if you have questions or concerns!
