➜ How did you get into PR?
It all started with yet another rugby injury...Having injured my knee, I was looking for ways to still stay involved with Peebles Rugby Club, and I decided I would have a go at helping with the club's social media. This sparked a real passion for graphic design and social media work for me. In my spare time outside of my HR job, I started taking on more social media projects, including content creation and video editing, and I was lucky enough to be introduced to Four through Rachel and her husband, Jordan. Before I knew it, I was part of the team, new to the world of PR and have learned so much about the industry in such a short period of time.
➜ What do you love most about working in PR?
Firstly, it's the team. The environment we have really sets us all up to thrive. Every day is different, and there is always such great energy in the office. I may be one of the only men in the team, but I have gotten used to that by now! Secondly, it's the interaction with our clients. Being able to build strong connections and learn the intricacies of different businesses is what makes this job so unique. We always feel like an extension of our clients' teams. Lastly, it's the creativity. Being able to put puns into practice, showcase design skills, and work with the media on some really fun projects means that my role is always enjoyable.
➜ What are your favourite things to do outside of work?
If you haven't guessed by now, I am an avid sports fan. When I am not playing rugby, I am doing something that revolves around sport. In July, I took to the hills of Morzine (seriously unprepared), with four pals to complete the 'Spartan Beast' race, the most gruelling thing I have ever done, but an accomplishment that I am extremely proud of.
