In a world that often feels demanding and fast-paced, this introductory workshop offers a chance to pause, reset, and discover a more easeful way of being in yourself. It’s for anyone curious about how to move through life with less effort, less stress, and more clarity.
The workshop introduces the Alexander Technique — a practical yet subtle skill you can take into everyday life. Rather than trying to ‘fix’ yourself, it helps you notice and gently change long-held habits of reacting, moving, posture, breathing, and unnecessary tension. Even small shifts can make a surprisingly big difference.
You’ll begin to experience how greater awareness and coordination can lead to feeling calmer, more resilient, and having a greater sense of yourself. With continued Alexander sessions, many people find they think more clearly, feel more confident, and move with greater freedom. Chronic pain, stiffness, and stress patterns ease and sometimes resolve altogether.
Because of these wide-ranging benefits, the Alexander Technique supports everything from high-level athletic and artistic performance to navigating pain, injury, illness, or disability — and simply living daily life with more ease and effectiveness.
During the workshop, you’ll work with several experienced, skilled, and friendly Alexander Technique teachers. You’ll leave with simple, practical ideas that you can immediately apply in your daily life.
This workshop is brought to you by Portobello Alexander Technique, in partnership with Alexander Technique Collaboration Scotland — a not-for-profit collective of teachers dedicated to widening access to, and awareness of the Alexander Technique.
