I am an Acupuncturist based in Edinburgh and I am very excited to begin my journey of healing from two different locations (Marchmont and Haymarket), starting at the beginning of October. Acupuncture is a therapy derived from ancient Chinese Medicine where fine needles are inserted along the meridians (lines of energy) of the body for treatment or prevention of various physical and mental conditions. Although each needle is slight enough to cause little to no discomfort, its impact is sufficient to signal the body to respond. This response involves stimulation of the immune system and is therefore the body beginning to heal itself. I use traditional Chinese Medicine theory for my diagnosis of patients and in the treatments that I offer. To enhance the benefits of Acupuncture I often use very effective microsystems which exist in the body, alongside infrared light therapy, cupping or moxa. Acupuncture can help relieve or even completely cure a wide range of different conditions. Stress, insomnia, anxiety and depression are some examples of mental conditions that can be treated. In terms of the physical, it can treat respiratory complaints such as ashthma, bronchitis, allergic rhinitis; disorders of the eye; disorders of the mouth and the teeth; gastro-intestinal disorders such as ulcers, constipation, diarrohea and musculo-skeletal disorders and injuries, both acute and chronic. Finally it has also been shown to be very effective treating allergies, blood pressure problems, infertility, rheumatoid and osteo arthritis, sexual dysfunction, to name a few examples. Sessions last one hour or a little over and cost £50, however, I am offering an introductory rate of £35.
