Royal Odonto-Chirurgical Society of Scotland

Royal Odonto-Chirurgical Society of Scotland The Society seeks to promote the highest clinical, ethical and professional standards in dentistry.

The Royal Odonto-Chirurgical Society of Scotland (ROCSS) was founded in 1867 and graciously granted a Royal Charter by Her Majesty The Queen on the occasion of its centenary in 1967. Today it is the oldest dental society in the UK, still functioning under its original title and upholding its original objectives. The Society welcomes applications from new potential members. The ROCSS seeks to promote the highest clinical, ethical and professional standards in dentistry through a winter lecture series held in The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. It runs from November to March and involves leading dental clinicians, academics and researchers. Most lectures attract verifiable CPD and CPDA to eligible practitioners. Membership is open to dentists and a particularly warm welcome awaits younger members and those new to Scotland. An excellent annual dinner is held every March along with our members' golf tournament.
