I have a couple of families who often send me photos and videos of their children between appointments because they are so proud of their accomplishments and they want to share them with me. I love this!

Yesterday a proud mum emailed me to tell me about their child’s progress - after a recent growth spurt resulting in increased falls and less ability to walk long distances - they were able to walk more than 15000 steps a day on their October holiday in Italy and with no falls!
Awesome work! 🤩

Hi all
Taking a wee break to spend some time with the family over half term.
I will return to work on Monday 27th of October and will reply to your messages then.
Enjoy yourself if you are also managing to take a break.
Thanks,

I mainly work alone with my lovely families but over the last couple of weeks have worked with Rachel Moyes, from Occupational Therapy Edinburgh, doing some useful sessions with a child who recently has been in hospital.

When working with another therapist, communication is vital to ensure that common goals can be achieved in a purposeful way.

If you feel that a collaborative approach with Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy would be helpful for your child, please drop me a message and we can have a discussion.

I ventured into East Lothian and visited the Balgone Sunflower Trail just outside North Berwick on Sunday and noticed that they had beach wheelchairs to borrow. According to their website, they have an adult and paediatric wheelchairs available.

It was a lovely place to visit and although the car park was busy, still was very peaceful 😊
Unfortunately it appears to have finished for the season but runs every August.

Hi all,
Apologies for the radio silence over the summer - a combination of holidays, work and being a mum has meant that my spinning social media plate has come crashing to the ground!

It’s the week when most of the kids are going back to school.
If you haven’t considered the important school bag, the Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists (APCP) have a handy leaflet on things to consider when choosing a school bag.
